Indie platform puzzler Contrast has been released for the Xbox One, seven months after its debut on other platforms.
Available on Xbox One now for $14.99/£11.99, Contrast made its debut on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and PC in November 2013, and was among the earliest free Instant Game Collection titles for PS4.
Contrast is the first game from Canadian developer Compulsion Games and, in their words, is "a mystery centred around cabaret, live jazz, fairgrounds, acrobatics and illusions".
The game is a platformer wrapped in a vaudevillian theatre aesthetic. A mystery audience member - you - plays as Dawn, "an enigmatic young lady" on an adventure to explore the world of Contrast and help out her friend Didi.
Dawn's unique power is her ability to become a shadow and, at that point, walk on top of other shadows as if they were platforms. Puzzles in the game often involve players manipulating light sources and objects to cast shadows in ways that allow Dawn to reach otherwise elusive areas.
