Set to launch on September 4, the handheld version of the subscription-based MMO will cost 3800 yen plus tax (£22/€27/$37). It will come with a 60 day subscription, a poster and a variety of in game goods, Nintendo Life reports.
The game originally launched in Japan on Wii in August 2012, before hitting Wii U in March 2013, PC last September, and smartphones via cloud streaming in December.
The 3DS version will offer the complete Dragon Quest X experience, with users able to play with Wii, Wii U and Windows players.
Dragon Quest X has sold over one million copies and has around 300,000 daily active players in Japan, producer Yosuke Saito said in April.
Square Enix said in May that it is considering releasing Dragon Quest X outside of Japan, but western launch plans have yet to be confirmed.
