Blizzard has confirmed pricing and partial release plans for Hearthstone's incoming 'Curse of Naxxramas' update.
Naxxramas - the first single-player campaign in Hearthstone - will give players access to a series of increasingly challenging boss fights, along with new cards and a new game board. The adventure will be divided into five wings, Blizzard confirmed on Tuesday, each home to multiple bosses.
Blizzard will release one wing per week in the following order: Arachnid Quarter, Plague Quarter, Military Quarter, Construct Quarter, and Frostwyrm Lair. The company held off confirming exactly when this release schedule will commence, having only previously confirmed a July release window.
Each wing will cost $6.99/£4.99 or 700 in-game gold, which can be earned without spending real money by completing various challenges. However, the first wing, the Arachnid Quarter, will be free to all during its first month of availability as part of a launch period offer.
Blizzard will also offer bundles at discounted prices, with smaller bundles offered for those who choose to unlock earlier wings with Gold but wish to purchase later wings with real money:
- All five wings: $24.99/£17.49
- Already own first wing: (buy remaining four) $19.99/£13.99
- Already own first two wings: (buy remaining three) $14.99/£11.49
- Already own first three wings: (buy remaining two) $9.99/£6.99
- Individual wings: $6.99/£4.99 OR 700 gold each
The developer has also confirmed that players can unlock a 'Heroic mode' within each wing by defeating all the bosses within that wing. "Heroic mode bosses are significantly more difficult than their normal versions, and they will prove to be a challenge for even the most veteran Hearthstone players," explains Blizzard.
Defeating every Naxxramas boss on Heroic mode will earn you a new card back for your collection.
