Rogue Legacy will be released for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita on July 29 in US and July 30 in EU.
Rogue Legacy is a 2D platform brawler with randomized levels and a unique perma-death mechanic. As game designer Teddy Lee explains, the game is a "rogue-lite game where you must conquer a magical castle which is constantly changing. Every time you die, your children succeed you.
"Each child has his or her own unique genetic traits, so one child might be a near sighted wizard, and another could be a flatulent ninja. So every play through is unique, right from the get-go."
Players earn gold in each run-through, which allow them to unlock permanent upgrades to help them with future plays.
Originally developed by indie team Cellar Door Games for PC and released in 2013, the PlayStation versions were ported by Abstraction Games.
The new Sony ports include cross buy and cross save functionality, a full suite of trophies including a Platinum Trophy, and all of the content included in the PC originals including post-release content patches.
