Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Explorers will release in Japan this winter.
The publisher revealed the 3DS action RPG's release window in a Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast on Friday. The announcement also included the first publicly released footage of the game in action starting at about 25 minutes in.
The game will let parties of up to four players team up to explore the world in search of crystals and battle enemy Summons.
Players can choose from multiple classic Final Fantasy jobs as they progress through the game, including the Black Mage, White Mage, Knight and Monk. It's being developed internally at Square Enix.
Square Enix has yet to confirm whether Final Fantasy Explorers is planned for release outside of Japan, however Square Enix has filed for trademarks on the title in the US and European Union.
The applications were filed on June 16 in the US and June 17 in the EU. They apply to "computer game software; video game software" and a swathe of related promotional goods.
