Mass Effect 4 survey launched by BioWare

Studio seeks fan feedback to help designers shape the next series entry

BioWare has launched a Mass Effect 4 consumer survey in a bid to help it shape the future of the franchise.

"Help us make the next Mass Effect game the best one yet," series producer Michael Gamble said on Twitter. "I'd appreciate it if you folks did this short survey."

The survey is designed to gauge consumer playing habits and expectations. One question asks which aspects of a new Mass Effect game players are most looking forward to, while another asks respondents to rank the importance of a number of RPG elements.

The story of Mass Effect 4 won't relate to Shepard or the events of the previous three games, with BioWare promising new characters to fall in love with, fresh enemies to encounter and new worlds to explore.

The game was in a playable state in late 2013 and was "somewhere in the middle" of development as of this May. Some conceptual prototype footage was aired at E3 2014 last month.

The game will be discussed during a Comic-Con 2014 panel hosted by BioWare on July 26. During the discussion, speakers will "share their experiences in shaping the next Mass Effect game with new possibilities while staying true to the critically acclaimed series."
