NBA 2K15 will include a musical score curated by musician Pharrell Williams, 2K has announced.
The publisher revealed the box art for the title, which includes a prominent credit to Williams' involvement. Williams is known for his production work with artists from Kendrick Lamar to Daft Punk, and for singles such as "Happy".
"Pharrell's passion and reputation as a visionary producer and expertise from working with the NBA will be evident in the largest and most eclectic NBA 2K soundtrack ever," VP of marketing Alfie Brodie said in the release.
"We really listened to our fans' feedback on how we could improve their experience from a music standpoint, and we're confident Pharrell's collaboration in NBA 2K15 will impress players as much as it's impressed us."
Acclaimed rapper Jay Z served a similar role for NBA 2K13.
The latest basketball sim from 2K Sports will star Oklahoma City Thunder forward and 2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant as its cover athlete.
LeBron James appeared on the cover of NBA 2K14 and curated the game's music. Influential hip-hop artist Jay-Z worked as executive producer on NBA 2K13, which included soundtrack selection duties.
NBA 2K14 was the fastest-selling release in the history of the series, having shipped more than five million units as of February, according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.
NBA 2K15 is planned for release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on October 7 in North America and October 10 internationally.
