Media Molecule has teased its upcoming PS4 project in the form of a brief, glitchy video.
According to the studio's description, a rendering error produced a " trippy sequence of colourful nonsense that begged to be shared."
The video shows rapid bursts of colored light illuminating faces, including recurring images of what appears to be an old man with a large mustache.
"Consider it an exclusive peek at our new game if you like, it's not particularly revealing, but it is fun, that much we guarantee... mostly," the description added.
Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans appeared on-stage at Sony's PS4 reveal event in February 2013 with a Move-enabled modeling program. While he didn't announce any games, Evans appeared to hint that the studio will embrace the motion controller for a future title.
"We are going to marry [the Move controller] with the power of PS4," he said. "We are going to revolutionise 'making'"
Since releasing Tearaway in November, the studio has been quiet about its upcoming projects.
Sumo Digital has taken over duties for LittleBigPlanet 3, the latest title in the Media Molecule-created franchise, leaving the Guildford studio free to pursue other creations.
Media Molecule said before E3 in June that it had "a whole lotta fun" to show some time after E3, and that the wait "won't be too much longer."
