New The Last of Us Remastered DLC will be revealed this week, according to Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli.
He wrote in a PS Blog post: "We'll be revealing some upcoming DLC and streaming a basic introduction to the multiplayer mode, Factions, live later this week over on our Twitch channel.
"We plan to show off the new features for PS4 as well as give our primer for those not familiar with the mode on Thursday, July 24th at 11:30 AM Pacific and 5:30 PM Pacific."
Perhaps most interestingly, the company said it is planning additional add-on releases for the game later this year, and that DLC will be cross-buy between PS3 and PS4.
Following the announcement, fellow Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer said the studio is "definitely not" making more campaign expansions, stating that the fresh content "will be multiplayer focused".
The The Last of Us Remastered release date is July 29. As previously confirmed, the PS4 game will ship with the Abandoned Territories and Reclaimed Territories multiplayer DLC, as well as the Left Behind campaign expansion.
Meyer also said last week that Naughty Dog is "just starting" to explore ideas for a potential The Last of Us sequel.
He said "it would be a disservice to ourselves and our fans" if Naughty Dog didn't consider more games in the series' well-received world, but that the company isn't obligated to go one way or the other.
