BioShock teaser emerges from 2K UK

Developer teases something to do with its critically acclaimed FPS series

The BioShock series could be about to make a surprise return to the spotlight if a new teaser from publisher 2K is anything to go by.

The below teaser image was posted on Thursday via the official Twitter feed for 2K United Kingdom, along with the message: "Oooo, what COULD this mean?!"

The image looks like a promotional poster for the Eve's Garden gentleman's club located in Fort Frolic in the first BioShock game.

"Come bite the apple!" reads the message, seemingly a biblical reference to role the fruit played in the Adam and Eve story.

The poster otherwise offers nothing more to go on, and 2K itself is yet to offer any further hints as to what the teaser is about.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2, released in March this year, was the final chapter in Booker and Elizabeth's narrative arc, and also the last entry in the series from Irrational Games following the studio's surprise closure in February.

In addition, hopes for the BioShock title on PS Vita, which was announced during Sony's E3 2011 conference, were dashed earlier in July by series creator Ken Levine when he said that "2K and sony couldn't put a deal together when I last checked."

Levine said that a deal needs to be struck between publisher 2K Games and Sony before the long promised BioShock Vita title can be a sound possibility, but having seemingly made no progress on the project since its 2011 announcement, the Vita title's future looked bleak.
