Shin Megami Tensei IV hits Europe in September

3DS eShop title will be priced at €19.99/£17.99

Atlus has announced that the European Shin Megami Tensei IV release date will fall in September 2014.

The game will be available exclusively as a 3DS eShop download for €19.99/£17.99.

Atlus said all game DLC will also be available, except for the North America retailer-exclusive pre-order bonus armour.

The demon-fighting RPG is the first new entry in the main Shin Megami Tensei series since 2003. The long running franchise also spawned the popular Persona series.

The game debuted atop the Japanese software chart when it launched in May 2013. It released in North America last July, but its European launch was pushed back due to an "unplanned hiatus".

Here's Atlus' official synopsis of Shin Megami Tensei IV:

The story of SMTIV revolves around the Samurai, the sacred protectors of the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. As a newly appointed Samurai, players will struggle with factions that have nefarious designs on the world as they defend Mikado from a growing army of demons flowing from the mysterious dungeon, Naraku. Decisions players make throughout the course of the story will have lasting repercussions, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
