Microsoft issues Xbox Live service alert

Company working on fixes for multiple Xbox One and Xbox 360 issues

Update: Xbox One connectivity issues have now been resolved, according to Microsoft, but Xbox 360 issues persist.

Original story: Microsoft is currently working to fix problems with Xbox Live connectivity.

The company has issued an Xbox Live service alert acknowledging that there are issues including "accessing all game features", capturing game videos, and joining other Xbox Live members in online games.

Microsoft posted the following update at 8:45 am GMT:

"So you're unable to post stats to leaderboards on your Xbox One console, right? Well, rest assured that we are investigating the issue right now. Additionally, if your Xbox 360 console is getting stuck on a black screen when trying to launch games or apps, hang in there! We are working toward a fix for this too. Thanks for your patience during this time. We'll provide an update for you as soon as we can."

August's Xbox One system update will enable 3D Blu-ray functionality on the console, while improving its social features and adding remote purchasing and downloading options.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer said earlier this month that Microsoft has feature updates planned for the console through October.
