Xbox Live issues persist for some Xbox 360 owners

Affected users hit with a black screen when attempting to launch games and apps

Microsoft is still working to fix problems with Xbox Live connectivity which arose on Thursday on Xbox 360.

The company's Xbox Live status page acknowledges that some console owners continue to face issues "accessing all game features".

The most recent update, posted at 22:55 GMT on Thursday night, states: "It's come to our attention that some of you are seeing a black screen when attempting to launch games and applications.

"Hang in there, Xbox members, we're on it! Thanks for your patience while we work to resolve this issue. We'll update you again as soon as we have more information."

Issues that were affecting Xbox One users on Thursday, such as the inability to post stats to leaderboards, have since been resolved, according to Microsoft.

August's Xbox One system update will enable 3D Blu-ray functionality on the console, while improving its social features and adding remote purchasing and downloading options.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer said earlier this month that Microsoft has feature updates planned for the console through October.
