Broforce developer Free Lives has released an official The Expendables 3-themed version of the game for free on Steam.
The standalone game, titled Expendabros, features chunky pixel versions of the film's main cast: Bro Caesar, Bro Christmas, Broney Ross, Trent Broser, Bronar Jenson, Broc and Toll Broad. Each character has his own unique weapon and special attack based on the original character.
Both Broforce and The Expendables pull much of their cast from across '80s and '90s action films; Broney Ross is actually the third character based on a Sylvester Stallone role to appear, counting Rambro and Bro Dredd from the original game.
The game's campaign includes 10 levels complete with destructible environments, enemies, and boss battles. The campaign can be played single-player or in co-op with up to four players at once.
Expendabros is available free on PC through December 31, 2014, and Broforce is available on Steam Early Access for $14.99. It's planned for release on PS4 and PS Vita in 2015.
The Expendables 3 hits theaters on August 15.
