2K Sports has revealed a new mode for WWE 2K15, which features exiled superstar CM Punk as one of its four main characters.
2K Showcase mode consists of 33 matches which relive the best moments from two of the WWE's more notable rivalries.
The first focuses on the rivalry between Triple H and Shawn Michaels spanning from 2002 to 2004.
It's the second, however, that should prove more interesting to WWE fans, as it features the feud between John Cena and CM Punk which took place from 2011 to 2013.
Punk's last public appearance for WWE was at the 2014 Royal Rumble in January, after which he failed to turn up for subsequent events.
Although he is still under contract to WWE, it is unclear as to whether Punk will ever wrestle for the company again and a no-compete clause means he is unable to sign with another organisation.
"Each year we try and create the best WWE 2K roster possible, and even though CM Punk is not currently appearing on WWE programming, we are really happy that we able to still provide for everybody this rivalry against John Cena and CM Punk as part of 2K15," said the game's executive producer Mark Little in a conference call held over the weekend.
According to 2K Sports, more feuds will be added to 2K Showcase mode as DLC following the game's release.
Last week the first new-gen WWE 2K15 screenshot was released, showing off the new character model for Cena.
WWE 2K15 will release for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 28 in the US and October 31 in Europe.
Two of Sting's personas will appear exclusively as pre-order bonuses.
