Publisher Deep Silver has released a new gameplay video of Dead Island 2, days ahead of its first playable public demo at Gamescom.
The video for the Yager-developed survival horror sequel showcases a sun-kissed California in disarray, with zombified beach bums and ex-law enforcement officers running rampant through the streets.
Deep Silver's showcase for the next-gen title is also distinctly gory, with detonations of blood complementing shotgun blasts and various impalement manoeuvres.
The publisher adds that Gamescom attendees "can enjoy a decent zombie slaughterfest just below the famous Hollywood sign" if they come to the demo booth.
Dead Island 2 is due for a "Spring 2015" release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
