Minecraft console developer 4J Studios is working to have the Vita, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game finished in time for release this month.
The studio said earlier this week: "We've handed Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition over to Sony for final test.
"We're still bug fixing Minecraft Xbox One and Minecraft Vita. We'll give you news when we have it."
Saves will be transferable between the PS3 and Vita versions, meaning players can craft at home then continue on the go and vice versa.
Minecraft PS3 and Vita players will also be able to import their worlds to PS4, but they won't be able to transfer saves from the new console to the other platforms.
Minecraft Xbox 360 players will also be able to transfer saves to Xbox One, but not vice versa.
Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will be able to upgrade to the new versions for a "small fee".
