Capcom could be on the verge of announcing a sequel to Resident Evil: Revelations.
A box art image and screenshot for 'Biohazard Revelations 2' (Biohazard is the alternative name for Resident Evil games in Japan) have been discovered, hosted on the official Xbox.com website (here and here), after first emerging via French site Gamer In a Box.
Capcom is yet to officially announce any plans for a Revelations sequel. But the appearance of assets hosted on the official Xbox site strongly backs previous rumors of the title, which was reportedly glimpsed via swiftly-removed listing on a Russian retail website in July.
Observers noted that the Russian listings surprisingly lacked any mention of Wii U and 3DS versions, with only PS3, PS4, 360 and Xbox One versions listed.
Resident Evil: Revelations was originally released for 3DS in early 2012, serving as a much-requested return to the survival horror roots of the series following the much maligned action oriented approach of the latter main-series titles.
The game was later enhanced for releases on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC in May 2013.
