Sony plans to introduce PS4 Remote Play to three of its mobile devices in November.
The Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet will be the first devices aside from PS Vita to let users stream their PS4 gameplay remotely.
As the Xperia devices will not include the Vita's various sticks, pads and buttons, Sony plans to release a special DualShock 4 controller mount for the devices.
The company recommends Remote Play be used only on the same network to which the PS4 is connected, though it is "theoretically" possible over an internet connection.
The Z3 range is set to launch in autumn. The Verge reports that Sony says has "no intent" to bring Remote Play functionality to anything outside of the Xperia line, so iPhone and other Android users are out of luck for now.
The PlayStation App lets users control basic functions on their PS4 using a mobile device as a second screen, however it cannot be used for Remote Play.
