Ubisoft's WWI puzzle adventure Valiant Hearts is now available on iOS in a new episodic format.
The game is now split into four chapters, with players able to initially download the first chapter for £2.99 / $4.99.
The other three chapters can then be downloaded for £2.49 / $3.99 each, or as a three-chapter bundle for £5.99 / $8.99.
According to Ubisoft, the iOS version features "completely rethought touch controls" designed to make the game enjoyable on a mobile device. There will also be more detailed historical information and the ability to share WWI facts over social media.
Using the UbiArt framework, Valiant Hearts is a unique First World War game in that the four playable characters never kill a single enemy.
Game and level designer Simon Chocquet-Bottani explained why this is the case, saying: "In order to focus on the more 'humanised' side of the war, we were very careful not to have the characters kill anyone.
"The war kills people, but none of the characters do. We really thought that enabling players to kill someone would lead to a break in the bond between player and the character and would confuse the game's overall message."
In CVG's Valiant Hearts review, we said: "This isn't just a WWI game; it's a WWI game releasing on its centenary and intended to commemorate, not simply recreate, those events.
"It does that wonderfully, musical car chases, duff puzzles and all. The level of research evident here, the fact that the story never takes sides, never asks you to shoot identikit soldiers and never credits you, the player, with turning the tide on the conflict, is a big deal."
