Wouldn't interest me in the slightest. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely went mental for it back on the PS1 with the first and second games, but is it really interesting anymore? - it's always been a button-bashers dream.
Far more interesting to me is that - on the same site I just went to - there was information about a sequel to No More Heroes.....now that is good news!

Yeah, it's CG... but it's Halo so I know it'll be great. Not playing as a cybernetic armoured tank soldier guy should make the game a more strategic affair methinks. I cannae wait! ... and by the way, Mark you really are sounding like a cynical old git lately. Go and play some more LBP beta I tell you! The gameplay will probably be completely different now too. No more running around shooting the shit out of everything like an idiot lol.
This is awesome. Im a Halo hater if you like, but this looks quite good for the franchise, what it should have looked like in the first place. A real moody feel and that the enemy is actually a threat. Agreed. Ouch, that was a kick in the balls....
The only reason I said it is becuase the guy in on his own, not in a squad and it looks it could be a stealty game, because the guys gun has a silencer on it.

Hey, try playing any of the Halo games on legendary and tell me the enemy isn't a threat! :D Problem is, when you have played something like LBP, everything else seems a bit lacking. Honestly, I feel sorry for those gamers who are too stubborn to give it a go. At least they'll have plenty of generic shooters to play instead. I've felt like that after quite a few games. For example back when I played FF7 every RPG I played afterwards seemed really dull- even the other FF games. Fable and then Mass Effect changed that though :wink:
I think everyone should give LBP a go- I really wanna try it out as the video's look great. But I've got to prioritise (spelling), I'm a Halo nut after all. That'll be me then, stubborn, eh? Its going to be very interesting to see how many PS3's LBP actually shifts, a lot of people are making out its the Second Coming or something similiar, me i think ill wait 6 months but I am 'stubborn'. that must be one hell of a fight if its taking nearly 3 games to finish. with this and halo wars maybe they should have re-thought the "finish the fight" tagline for halo3. FAIL. I know what you mean but I mean the convent (sp?) as a species (rather than the difficulty) didnt seem like a bunch of hard ass enemies that would masacre the huan race or whatever their aim was, I just didnt believe it. FAIL what? i'm saying the finish the fight tag is redundant. its nowhere near finished. just like we all knew halo3 wasn't gonna be the last game in the series. »
I totally agree, but I have to say I will be getting LBP on launch, that and Gears of war 2 are the only games that interest me right now. The way everyones going on about LBP is worrying, it looks like its setting itself up as a major disappointment, just look at all the hype surrounding GTAIV and that turned out to be a bit of a letdown. To suggest a games so good it makes other games seem lacking is a ridiculous statement, surely its a matter of opinion. Anyway we'll find out on 24th wont we. Looks like this will be my main xmas game in 2009, roll on the drip feed of information. But i cant help but feel this is a stop gap till halo 4 on the next xbox. Hmm, why do we have to wait a whole year for an expansion pack though. It's been a while since halo3 so i'm sure they must be nearly finished this now. Stubborn? Some of us dont have the cash to play everything we want to play.
So much good stuff on the way,its crazy. They should have done an entire game dedicated to showing the halo universe from the perspective of a marine. It would make for a more intense Halo experience, kinda like a COD4 version of Halo 3. It's a prequel, muppet. That's why it's not called Halo 4 recon.
Halo Wars is set 20 years before Halo 1. If you're going to slight something offhand at least know the details. ...and on the topic at hand.... fall 2009, wtf??
It better be a lengthy bloody expansion.
And are the mythic maps a separate entity? If not I'm going to have potential achievements for content that I'm not going to get for a year. That's ****ing madness. This could be a standalone game like rainbow 6 vegas 2 or GRAW2.
I'm sure that by Fall 2009 the PS3 will have woken up from it's slumber and will have something better than Halo3 - we need this now! That Potential they keep on talking about has to materialise sometime! what's the ps3 got to do with halo? PS3 will be fine, there, there. It's not getting drubbed like the dreamcast, n64 etc....
I just think after all this teasing starting from spring of this year, making us wait for essentially a year and a half for a bloody expansion is stupid.
If it's using the same engine, which it must if it's to be integrated with Halo 3 then what's the hold up? Multiple reasons.
- Halo Wars is out spring 2009. They won't want two Halo games locking horns for sales.
- Bungie are most likley working on another project at the same time.
- Bolster MS's fall 2009 line-up, the most profitable period of gaming. Can't wait personally, as I'm a big fan of Halo and enjoyed the other games, although I wish they would do a boxed copy of this expansion as well so I can add it to my collection instead of just downloading it.
Still can't wait though. Excellent, Spring 2009... so we're getting it six months before it is promised in the trailer. 8) Right so an expansion for a crap game...

Note: I thought I'd put it in a language he could understand. so anyone actually know anything of the mythic maps then? I'm still confused about this whole skull business. It was those achievements that alerted me to the possibility of a campaign expansion.
But now with 'recon' confirmed with it's own 1000 pts of achievements and I assume maps, where is news on what is surely soon to be released maps?
Teasing a year in advance is one thing, but not even mentioning what has been on the cards for ages is grounds for dismissal. |
