DoA 4 and Code Cronus for Xbox 360, says Team Ninja

Head Ninja Tomonobu Itagaki reveals his plans for next-gen Xbox punching - but they're not finished with current gen yet
Dead or Alive 4 and Dead or Alive Code Cronus will both be punching and kicking their way onto Xbox 360, according to Team Ninja boss Tomonobu Itagaki.

But Xbox owners shouldn't feel that they have to trade in their machine just yet - Itagaki-san also emphasised that he was still working on current generation Xbox titles too.

Speaking to Japan's only Xbox games mag, Famitsu Xbox, Itagaki-san that he planned to release at least two more current-gen Xbox games. One will likely be a 'Perfect' edition of Ninja Gaiden that features the downloadable Hurricane Packs out of the box (could this be the Ninja Gaiden Black listed on US retailer websites last month?) while the other could be the previously announced Dead or Alive Code Cronus.

Strangely, Itagaki-san then suggested that Code Cronus, which remains something of a mystery to anyone outside Team Ninja but is expected to be an action RPG based on the DoA characters, had been shifted to Xbox 360.

No confusion about Dead or Alive 4, however - it's a Xbox 360 definite. Itagaki-san mentioned that 99% of his time was being taken up by work on DoA4 and that he'd only slept 40 minutes in the last 4 days. 40 minutes? Lazy bugger.

And even though Team Ninja is still working on current-gen Xbox titles Itagaki-san did admit that 90% of the dev team's time was now committed to Xbox 360. He said that the sudden changeover from Xbox to Xbox 360 makes him "a little sad."

With the MTV unveiling of Xbox 360 barely a week away and E3 following hot on its heels, hopefully we'll get the full story on Team Ninja's plans soon.
