You'll probably already have read yesterday's story about the proposed PlayStation HUB, the new codename for Sony's planned PlayStation online service for the PS3.
It was a great scoop from our friends over at Next-Gen.biz and immediately sent our news antennae into overload as we digested details on what Sony had in store for its PS3 and PSP online service - you can find out the full details by hitting the link above.
Subsequent to this report, we spread our tendrils across the world wide web to track down further details on the service. Speaking on conditions of strict anonymity, one of our own ultra secret and highly reliable sources informed CVG that HUB details were being kept firmly under lock and key for the moment and that, while the HUB moniker is one of the favoured names, it's still hasn't been finalised and is just one of several proposed titles being considered.
However, CVG's very own deep throat went on to reveal further hot info on PlayStation 3 titles that will be actually be there and in the flesh at this year's E3, with an 'absolutely gorgeous looking' SOCOM 4 confirmed for the show and likely to be a PS3 launch title.
You want more PS3 loving? Well, you'll get it in the form of a newly confirmed PS3 God of War title, which we have to say has us salivating in utter delight because its PS2 debut was absolutely cracking - we can't wait to swing Kratos' chains in anger all over again on Sony's next-gen machine. God of War PS3 may not actually make it to E3, but is apparently well into development; and interestingly, both it and SOCOM 4 will also be appearing on PS2, underlining Sony's commitment to its favoured current-gen son for the next few years.
Finally, we've got one last nugget of PS3 goodness to share with you, as we can exclusively reveal that Ratchet and Clank developer Insomiac's amazing looking PS3 shooter I-8 - and one of Sony's biggest PS3 titles - has been renamed. Prepare to meet ....(sound of drum roll) Resistance.
I'm getting a bit fed up with these multi-generation ideals - with the 360 at least we are thus seeing very underwhelming titles that are clearly held back by the previous generation.
WOW, HIGH RES SOCOM! I THINK I JUST MADE A MESS! BECAUSE CLEARLY SEQUELS THAT MERELY SEEM TO UP THE RESOLUTION ARE WELL WORTH THE £300 FOR A NEW BIT OF KIT TO PLAY THEM ON!

Not.
well said. just what i was thinking when playing PGR3. Dead or Alive 4 etc...nice looking games, but no originality, and basically they are just rehashed Dreamcast, XBox games...i've not seen any games worth spending £49.99 and the ones i have got just look pretty.
DOA4 is a terrible game...nice graphics, sure, but it is basically DOA3 with xbox live play thrown in, and that is rubbish..the worst lag i have seen since fifa 2005.
I hope Top Spin 2 will be a good game, but once again, it is a sequel with better graphics and a few added features...nothing really original.
i'm no way buying another new console after this because to spend over £300 on a machine that has nothing original is boring..Even Kameo is the same as every other adventure game....
better off waiting another 10 years or more and see if consoles are still here, quite honestly if they are as limited as xbox360 and ps3, then i am not getting one. my pc and dvd player does more than xbox360, éxcept does not play games...
very disappointed with xbox360 and no doubt ps3 won't be much better.
PGR3 is a driving game nothing more if thats what you want thats what you get.
I have spent well over 120hr in game and still enjoy it.
Kameo is amazing the only bad thing about it is that it ends but the online coop mode comes out soon that will be lots of fun.. I spent 50 hrs none stop playing this game with out any sleep.
DOA4 is nothing new but it is a good game if you like fighting games of that type. i have put in close to 50 hrs in game and i still play it alot.
I spend alot of time on my XBOX 360 and i love it.
I think you have to be happy when you play games, dont exepect the game to make you happy... some people get bored to easy.
If you dont like the XBOX 360 games or any of todays game you are not a gamer.
Don't you think it's possible to enjoy freedom of personal choice and still consider yourself a gamer? For example, while the Xbox 360's line-up has so far been unappealing as far as my own personal tastes go - thus ensuring I haven't put my hand in my pocket for the machine just yet - I'd still consider myself a gamer. Why do you think it's wrong for me to think this?
Well to be honest, all we are hearing are just rumors and you all know how good sony is at spreading rumors (and Microsoft too for that matter) but until we can see something concrete for ourselves, I am not believing this and I wont be falling into the over-hype trap hole that sony is trying to make people get into and this is of course regarding the online service they will be offering.
No matter what Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo are claiming the next generation is going to be like, I wont trust anyone until I can see the claims in front of me. To me, the Next Generation wont start until I can see proper original games running on each system and only then I will make my judgement!.
Wow. Finally, Gears of War 360 VS God of War PS3. Who will win? Of course God will win.
Anyway, Socom 4? Awsome. If this is a launch title, it will surely make surely make use of Sony's awsome Online service. This could be the killer online game for PS3.
Shut up. God will strike you down for talking s**t about God. Oh Lord, give me the power to strike down this non believer. Oh, if you don't give me power, at least strike him with lightening. And oh, make ID a require course in school
