Microsoft has promised refunds for American Xbox Live users who have lost money trying to download from its new Video Marketplace, which went online in the States on Wednesday.
The new marketplace allows users to download TV shows and movies in both high and standard definition, including films such as Three Kings and episodes of South Park, CSI and, erm, Pimp My Ride.
Perhaps expectadly, the high demand for the new Xbox Live video service has caused many a technical hitch, with Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb admitting that "these technical issues have resulted in a very unpleasant experience for our members, including extremely slow downloads or not receiving the content they purchased."
The Major says that a team is working around the clock to fix the download problems, and that anyone who has experienced a problem such as losing points without receiving a download shout call 1-800-4MYXBOX.
"Thanks for your patience, and please know that the team is prepared to make things right for those affected," he says, "including refunding Microsoft Points where appropriate and as quickly as possible."
There's no news yet on when - or if - the Video Marketplace will reach Europe, but we'll let you know as soon as any word on that eminates from the big M.

Then I'll write my Christmas list containing some of the MANY AAA GAMES COMING TO XBOX 360, while you, because of your stubbornness and loyalty to a brand that does nothing but lie to you and churn out crappy sequels, continue to wait until March in the false hope that everyone just might happen to be wrong about the PS3.
When you spend your massive amount of money only to find that you've bought a system that is nothing close to what Sony told you it was, then try finding some good games out of the awful launch lineup, then buy one and realize that the graphics are not that much of a leap from PS2, I'll be standing in the Xbox isle, browsing the library of hundreds and wondering what to get next, knowing that no matter what I do buy, it's going to look fantastic, play well and feature online functionality.

Either headline would have been fine, I'd say it was probably changed after news emerged that MS were doing refunds, rahter than a case of bad journalism as you say.

It was never "infiltrated by Xbox fanboys", the same people are here who always were, most of them have just bought Xbox 360s and realized that Sony are liars and the PS3 is a joke. Thats my perspective anyway, I owned a PSone, PS2 and I have a PSP. But Sony have done too much unforgivable stuff and the PS3 is crap as a result. Its not so much Xbox-fanboyism as Sony-hateism.

It's not like i'm even on my computer that much, but what do you want me to post here? I love PS3, Wii, 360, PC, etc. everything is happy....What the f**k? It's a discussion we have on here, it would be boring if everything said the same thing. using my usa account i had a look what you can download on this new service and at the moment there is a lot of good content on it, you can see why a lot of people are accessing it.
At the moment there is not enough HD content i wont be downloading star trek 2 as a rental as i already have the dvd but when an HD version appears ill try it out(if i can not sure if you can get pay content with a USA account outside the US).
I downloaded the transformers teaser in HD anyway and it downloaded pretty quick.
The funniest thing is you can download the cartman wants a wii episode of south park and if you press preview on part 1 it shows you a clip of cartman praising the wii glazing into a shop selling pre-orders.
The tv show episodes you keep forever but the films are rentals only.
Why has no one ever made a TV series or movie based on the rhetorical bitch-slapping that goes on in these types of forums? They keep me entertained for hours.

PS3 is here and its already kicking bottom. That sounds judgemental to me.
That comment was more intended to provoke a response rather than being an actual statement. I would love to purchase a PS3 on release but simply won't be able to afford on at that time (regardless of the price).
