Bioshock: June release for Europe in question

A June release has been confirmed for North America, but what about here? We ask 2K Games
Bioshock publisher 2K Games has informed CVG this morning that the fab looking FPS-RPG is scheduled to release in North America in June on Xbox 360 and PC.

When queried on the UK and European release, a 2K spokesperson explained that the company tries to keep releases simultaneous, but was unable to 100-percent confirm whether we'll be getting Bioshock at the same time as our North American gaming cousins - or later.

Bioshock is Irrational Games' game that thrusts players into utterly weird events occurring in a failed utopia lying on the seabed where mutated humans have waged war.

I feel very very very very sorry for you if bioshock does get banned because it looks like a great game.

2008 release for the PC version then......

A cheap shot and unnecessary IMO.

My point being that you have no real justification for saying that about this game - one that has always been focused as a big PC release from the get-go. I personally would be very surprised if this is not a simultaneous launch - the only proviso being if the two versions happen to be different in some key way, but nothing has been mentioned on that front.
Dogen_D_Derrible on 5 Jan '07
Humorguy, why do you feel the need to come into every single news story about PC games and make some kind of dumb comment? Did a PC abuse you when you were a child?

No, you're just a troll. Silly me.

Stuart, Stuart, Stuart.....Of all people, you should know when a combined release date for the PC and console version is given it will mean the PC version actually out 6 months later.... Hence methinks a Christmas 2007 or 2008 release for the PC version!

One word:

Oblivion.

If there is one thing that annoys me about gamers it's their belief they can never be wrong and everybody who disagrees is!

We weren't saying that at all, it's just that your initial comment seemed flippant and without any real grounds, and the fact is that this is far from the first time you have made such grand statements in relation to upcoming or recent PC games.

If you where saying, "this is what I think and here is why," then fine, we may not agree but at least we could see where you were coming from. However you seem to insist on kicking at these games and the people who want to play them almost as if it is a nervous tick that you cannot help but do! As a result is it any wonder that people become riled?!

Wasn't Oblivion 6 months late? Where a definite November release became a March release?

But it was late on both platforms, so what is your point?

It still launches simultaneously on the PC and 360. Which is the point I was making. Personally I don't give a s**t if a game slips, I'd rather they spend longer working on a game than rush it out.
DarthMorbus on 6 Jan '07
Oh my GOD Humourguy! HOW have you not killed yourself yet? Your perception of the world is so unflinchingly depressing.

What you fail to realize is that nobody places complete and utter faith in the success of the PC and/or release dates because everybody already knows that nothing in this world is certain. Nobody needs you to tell them that. Your thoughts are not original, they're not 'revolutionary', hell they're not even controversial. In short, you contribute precisely f**kall to these threads with your pessimism.

Your comments are annoying and pointless. That has NO bearing upon whether you are right or wrong, because it does not matter who is right and who is wrong and nobody apart from you thinks it does.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly these kind of threads end up in "I'm right, you're wrong" (and the reverse psychology) attitudes.

Everyone's entitled an opinion, most of the stuff you read here is in my opinion, just an opinion - why do others seek to tear them down so hastily.

Just for the record: WoW was delayed to hit the UK shelves too, there are plenty of examples, and sure enough it's not always fair. I wonder how hard it can be to co-ordinate delivery to outlets in various countries in time to release it simultaneously.
