Is TMNT on XBLA not coming to Europe?

Question mark hangs over the appearance of the beat-'em-up on these shores
The Xbox Live Arcade port of 1980s side-scrolling beat-'em-up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may only release in North America.

In the wake of yesterday's news stating the game would be out this month, Ubisoft, which is responsible for putting TMNT on XBLA, has now told us it's "unsure if this is coming out in Europe."

A representative for the publisher added that solid information on this should be available shortly. We'll let you know as soon as we get anything concrete.

Look im getting really p**sed with microsoft i dont particularly care about TMNT but the fact that they dont even bother with europe is a friggin joke

Well, it's not exactly like Sony are doing any better... In fact, Nintendo seem to be the only ones keeping up with things at the moment.

Is there really any point to the xbox live market place i can count on 1 hand the games that are half decent, Wii's virtual console blows it away, like you im getting sick of microsoft i was looking forward to this game
mattant79 on 7 Mar '07
it'd better be coming.......... Evil or Very Mad
mcfly28 on 7 Mar '07
This was the first game I would have considered buying from the Marketplace. I just hope this gets sorted out fast. The only XBLA game I have is Texas Hold 'Em and thats because it was free.

I wouldn't agree with the Revolution Virtual Console blowing it away. The games are really expensive and offer no new features (like online play) over the last time.

As I've said before it seems that with MS as long as the US are ok thats all that matters.
spooney100 on 7 Mar '07
It must be lets p**s of the Europe's evan more this year.
Not only do we get games months after every one else, we have to look forward to missing out on some top arcade action. What is it about us that games companys don't like, is it we have are eyes to close togeather or the fact that we speak a tone of languages. or do they just plane hate us.
I guesss we will never know.

I've gotta say that if this doesn't make our shores then I'm gonna be super f***ing p**sed with Microsoft.

It's bad enough watching that we have to watch while the Yanks get countless amount of exclusive content, not just the video marketplace. But if they start getting exclusive arcade games like Turtles, something I was REALLY looking forward to playing, I might join the whingers spamming Major Nelsons blog all the time complaining about their seemingly complete disregard for anyone that doesn't live in America.

I agree that content is thin on the Live Arcade. It's existed for over a year and already Nintendo's 3-month-old (crappy) console has outnumbered it's games. (Had to add the "crappy" remark. Damn useless Wii. Waste of my money. Although if Nintendo had marketed it as a professional dust-collecting machine, I can tell you, it does that very well indeed.)

Lack of content is Microsoft's own fault though. Worms HD is a prime example. It takes so long to submit a game to them, then even longer before it's certified... they are stifling their own content.
I am also starting to get quite sick of our limited non-Arcade content on the Marketplace.
Why should I pay the same amount (probably more actually with $ - € exchange rates) for my Gold Account as a user in the US does, while receiving a seriously reduced amount of content for the privilege?

Where are my Borat/Family Guy/other exclusive picture packs? Where are my movie trailers? Where is my video marketplace? Why am I not currently awaiting the imminent arrival of IPTV? Where is my Diamond card?

I really want a unified Marketplace, and I really hope MS starts to make it happen. I thought the South Park episode may have been the first sign of equality, but now with this news about starting to localize Arcade games, things are actually getting worse.
Everyone, regardless of their location, should be able to access the same Marketplace content as everyone else.
falloutwarchief on 7 Mar '07
Aaargh. Those stupid yanks how come they end up with what seems like a premium xbox service with films and tv shows and we get stuck with robbie williams videos. Is it just that the yanks are to fat and lazy to get to a video shop. Im glad mircrosoft thought better of the southpark episode but lets hope they sort out the rest of xbox live, i want what they all get.
Limerick on 7 Mar '07
Surely this can be seen as racist! Hey if big brother can do it so can we! I am expecting big dissapointment with Halo 3 on the hosting situation because we know the Yanks will get preferential treatment when it comes to hosting games and therefore having an unfair advantage over everyone else. Halo fans outside USA will know what I mean, I had hoped MS would sort out these problems for Halo 3 but the mess they're making of XBLA with regional releases shows they haven't got their act together. Theres really no need or excuse for regional releases like this.
spooney100 on 7 Mar '07
If this does happen I'll just make a Yank account and buy some US MS points off Ebay.

This year's been one dissapointment after another when it comes to the Marketplace. Was bad enough when the video marketplace was announced for the US only, then they had achievement point rewards and now it would seem likely that one of the most wanted Arcade releases is gonna be yank only as well.

F***ing Yanks!

MS you better not take your eye's of the ball in europe as your competitors well sony anyway seem to have been doing lately.

At the end of the day though this seems more like its down to Ubisoft than MS so maybe some of your aggression should be pointed at them.

And on Wii they could have at least optimised a lot of the PAL VC games they still have the fckin borders on them for cryin out loud I dont mind them being authentic but thats taking the p**s.
And ninty should really have added online MP to the VC games they would have had some great titles for online play already.

But Microsoft sort it out & stop looking at Sony & just concentrate on your own machine & network like Nintendo seems to be doing.

You pretty much nailed everything i wanted to say, oh and the guy above who said there's only one good game on Xbox Live? What the hell are you on about dude? Street Fighter 2, Alien Hominid, Worms are all prime examples of games that are on Arcade but also massively massively improved, Worms in HD and online - for Ł6(ish)! BARGAIN
