Japanese games magazine Famitsu has slated Super Mario Galaxy for an October release in its latest list of release dates.
Now, this list could just be a projection of expected release dates, but when it's Famitsu you're talking about, there's always the suspicion that, as is so regularly the case, they may know something we don't.
If the game does indeed release in Japan in October, we hope Nintendo's translators have got their speed hats on because we're expecting it over here before Christmas. You promised, Nintendo.
Also in the list, courtesy of Kotaku, is Wii Health Pack, which it has down for July. No sign of Metroid Prime 3, though. Hmm...
Oh and if Metroid isn't out this year i will be majorly p**sed off, as it was supposed to be a launch game. We might get Metroid before Christmas here though and then Mario after. So they are released in the areas they are developed in first. With Japan getting it the other way around. That could mean Nintendo could dragg out their 3 main titles over 2 years of wii's lifespan without having to do much else
about friggin time we got SOMETHING close to a release date. ok its not offical but i've never known Famitsu to be wrong. Boy I'm starving. yeah, i'm miffed that we aint got Mario sooner. they took the pi$$ with Wario ware and Excite Truck. and they definitely messing with us with Mario Galaxy and MP3. although, on the flide side, you know they are gonna be worth it. while i'm speaking my mind, where's this alleged DS - Wii link up? suppose to be able to download demos on Wii and send em across and play a few games using the DS. Startin to wish they had a few gig built into the DS now. Queue DS Lite SP.

This is the only reason I'll even consider getting a wii, as everything up to this point has been weak sauce as far as I'm concerned. Sure, Zelda was good, but I bought the Gamepube version which was just as good in my opinion.
Oh, and Metroid Prime 3 this year? Dream on guys, we all know theres no way in hell its going to happen...
can't wait for smg the first TRUE mario since the n64.metroid primes ommission in japan is irrelevent as it's a 1st person adventure/shooter and therefore WILL bomb in japan and is in no way indicative of when it will arrive in the west. (2008,bet on it)
Stop your whining, We have Paper mario soon, then Mario Galaxy end of year/eary next year, how many mario games do you want
It's not how many Mario games everyone wants, it's that they happen to look like two of the few good games in a sea of sub-standard s**t. And to be fair Paper Mario should already be here, the only reason they're delaying it, in my opinion, is because they want to soften the blow of announcing Galaxy being delayed 'til next year in Europe by releasing Paper Mario around the same time as the announcement.
So far I think Nintendo's approach has been pretty unaccetable, they shouldn't release a machine and then have only one really good game in the first few months (referring to Zelda) a game which was available on a last gen console. With nearly all first party games, which lets be honest are pretty much going to be the only ones worth getting, either in the distant future or not even announced. I am very glad I didn't pick up a wii as I would now be looking at the 360 schedule with serious envy! My advice to wii owners is get out while you still can ebay calls and so does the 360. I regret not doing the same with my gamecube when I realised that all 3rd support had dried up.
well i own both a 360 and a wii. and you, sonic fury, can suck my balls as far as your opinion goes to me. this game is going to have that touch of nintendo class that many other devs just cannot achieve. although i am massivley dissapointed with the current range of games, i hold the console firmly knowing that EVENTUALLY we will have some killer apps. i love you nintendo, don't fail me now
I get your point sonicfury, but it´s not really an option for me since I CRAVE Metroid Prime 3. Having a X360 on the side wouldn´t make things worse though
AS good as Metroid can be, Mario will always be the money shot of any nintendo console. If it can grasp the nettle of change as strongly as the move into 3d as Mario 64 did eleven years ago this will be a very very important release for the entire video games market let alone Wii.

That will probably be very very hard to achieve since M64 was the first of it´s kind. Innovation don´t come as "easy" these days.
For the gamer I don't think the Wii was a worthwhile purchase on release. Give the console a year and I reckon there will be enough good to great games, and a fairly constant stream of them, to warrant purchasing. When other devs only get four months to make games before a consoles release one can't expect magic.
Personally I'd rather they delay a while and release a bug-free game (or as close as possible) than release on time and have everyone bitching about problems they're having.
I'm not yet convinced by SMG - from what I've seen it looks like trying to get yourself pointing the right way could be a challenge in itself I'm keeping an open mind though.
The lack of games isn't really all that shocking. Trying to find decent SNES titles after it came out was tough (even if you did have Mario World to keep you going), and that didn't have the unusual control method the Wii does. I'm hoping to see a couple of surprise titles in time for Xmas this year, or Q1 next.
