The next instalment in Activision's Tony Hawk franchise, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, has been detailed in the latest issue of US mag, Gamepro.
According to the mag the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 skater sports new Nail-the-Trick modes, skater classes, a full-featured video editor as well as a revamped multiplayer mode.
Apparently original developer Neversoft is once again at the helm, despite taking over development duties on Harmonix's Guitar Hero.
That's all that's available so far, but we'll be sure to let you know more when the announcement and screenshots ollie into our desks.
Jeez, how boring. What is this now... the 9th, 10th iteration?
And what has truly changed since it started... you could probably name about 5 or 6 real changes and not that many of them have made much of a difference.
I used to love the old Tony Hawks but then they started adding god awful storylines in.
It just seems like, with Skateboarding, once the programmers managed to cram every trick possible into the game, there isn't much more you can do.
You can't add anything more to the game unless you take away the realism, which in turn takes away the appeal of the game in the first place.
Latter day Tony Hawk games remind me of The Simpsons now - they both realise there is little more than can do so they just chuck guest stars in and hope people will buy into it because of faces the kids think are cool.
Wasn't the last one...oh, hang on, the name escapes me. It was definitely Tony Hawk's, er, something-or-other...? No. No good. Anyway, wasn't that supposed to bring an all-new excitement, feel, and enrichment to the game?
Bring on SKATE. Tony, you're practically a nobody these days, and now so's your game.
