After retailers reported a one week slip earlier this month, Microsoft has confirmed that the Windows Vista version of Halo 2 has been delayed further to June 8.
Previous reports put the release date for the PC version at May 18.
The Vista version features brand new multiplayer maps, a map editor as well as some very minor (and we mean minor) graphical tweaks. It also refuses to run on anything other than Microsoft's latest version of Windows, Vista - so if you haven't got it, don't bother.
You can read the review of Halo 2 Vista already - and PC Gamer's Jim Rossignol doesn't seem to like it much. Rubbish music though? That's just harsh.
Is it just me or is this game on the PC just pointless now. It's years out of date superceded by plenty of newer games plus it wasn't even that good the first time around. They will release this game then a few months later halo 3 is out on the shelves. What's the point!?
Exactly what I was going to say. Halo 2 on PC delayed... but does anyone actually give a damn?
It might be heralded as the king of console FPS (personally I disagree - never understood what the fuss was about), but it can't even begin to hold a candle to even the most modest of PC shooters. Plus its 3 years old. That's ok Microsoft, no thanks. You keep it.
Why do they keep delaying it when it is clearly finished? I know two people from America on my XBL friends list who walked into Circuit City the other day and bought a copy. They have been playing it online.
The funny thing I find about this game (whilst it is quite sad to see such a highly acclaimed game get such low reviews) is that this is the game chosen to flagship Vista. Vista means DX 10 for gamers; use Crysis or something that fully encapsulates how PC technology is rocketing forward, not something that was new and exciting years ago.
Let's face it, the only people who're going to buy this already have it. Also I can't imagine anyone actually likes those new "Games for Windows" labels that have ruined PC game boxes.
