Konami has not confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be released on Xbox 360, despite even more reports confirming it's on the way.
Internet rumours of a 360 conversion have run wraith on the net, but Konami, who refuses to comment on the rumours, has still made absolutely no official statement regarding a 360 version.
Rest assured that if Konami even whispers about a 360 version, its words will be splashed all over these pages before the sound leaves its giant corporate mouth. Until then, nothing is confirmed.
Was there ever any doubt? I've seen the ZOMG MGS 4XBOX stories crop up so many times, I didn't pay it any heed at all this time. Obviously it would be interesting news so I'd usually give it a read, but the boy has cried wolf so many times now that he could stumble in my front door missing a leg, covered in bite marks, hell, even with the wolf still attached, and I probably wouldn't believe him.
However I do believe it will finally make the jump as a timed exclusive. I'm just waiting for a reputable source, of which there have been none so far. Until such time as it is indeed "splashed all over these pages" of good ol' CVG, I'm taking every MGS related rumour with a bathtub of salt.
lol, youre right richy, obviously if theyre concentrating their resources on getting the PS3 one finished and the fact that thats been delayed already, once its released on the PS3 they'll work on the 360 version, guaranteed the next quarterly results for Konami after its released on PS3 will have a profit projection containing a 360 version
If it doesn't initially come out on the 360, or things go quite on a 360 version, no doubt a MGS4: Substantial version will appear for it after the main game's release.
This has as much chance of coming out on the 360 first as Microsoft and Sony joining forces and linking together PSN and XBOX Live. Cross-console gaming anyone? Shadowrun to be released on PS3 by end of June.!!
Big developers have already said it costs loads to make next gen games now and making a game for one console, you don't usually make your money back from it. So MGS4 coming to 360 is bound to happen, but the question is when?.
TBH I dont really care that much if it does not come out on 360 as I am far more interested in the next splinter cell game anyway, but its still a nice title to have on 360 as well as PS3

why didn't Subsistance (or any facsimile of it) come to the XBox? and just why do 360 fans care whether or not MGS4 comes to the 360? in my opinion with the exception of Double Agent and (from the way things are looking) Conviction, the Splinter Cell series is better than MGS.
I think it's been delayed till next year so they can get the 360 version complete, maybe they'll release both together? Because if they anounce a 360 version now they damage PS3 sales, and if they release a 360 version a year after the PS3 they damage the 360s sales. So it makes sense to keep quite about it.
this rumour just won't die down,there's no smoke without fire so i guess we'll have to wait and see.one rumour i heard was that ms had just signed a deal with konami to bring mgs4 to 360 a year after the ps3 version but with extra content(like the ps2's resi 4).here's a thought :if this is true,is there only FFXIII left as a worthwhile ps3 exclusive? scary thought this early in a machines life.

Sorry to p**s on your fireworks Rich but i will bet my c*ck that MGS4 will not be on the 360.....Ever! ok TBH who cares but IMO i think that Sony have this in the bag. I bet Sony have paid a lot of cash to keep this bad boy on the PS3! Also i have seen a video of the new splinter cell game and IMO it look ok at most. MGS4 looks 10x better but hey if we all liked the same things this world would be a s*it and dire place to be! Also I am going to start a rumor that Halo 3 will be on the PS3 next year and Zelda will be out for the 360 by mid 2008 and also Killzone will be showing its face on the Wii by the end of 2008!

nah i dont think it will be out on 360 and if mgs does go to 360 it will be sumthing like substance not the full game but thats not bad as you get more stuff usualy lol. and i think they said its exclusive but sony always do.
Considering this isn't a first party developed game, it has every chance of appearing on 360. Its the worst kept secret... I would however expect this one to be a timed exclusive. Release on PS3 in March 2008 and release on 360 for Fall 2008. Seems fair...
i think that the ps3 had the chance to be best console by end of 2008 because of some of the amazing exclusive titles, but with assasins creed and haze already crumbling to ms things are looking bad. sayin that i expect there to be a huge increase of sales with FF13 and KH3. not to mention army of two next month, home in september and little big planet eventually.
remember, heavier things have a lower start speed but have a higher maximum momentum. basically when PS3 does properly launch, it will go like a rocket.

Heavier things also tend to sink faster it really could go either way. Personally I see MGS4 as the last big title the Xbox really needs to get to. If you're really into RPGs, PS3 was never going to be out of contention. They just have too many exclusive franchises, but if you like shooters and the like, seeing MGS4 on 360 may be the difference between owning 2 HD consoles this generation and owning 1. I accept your argument that Home and LBP are coming, but will it be too late by then?
I don't think it will and i shall list my reasons.

Reasons why it probably will happen
1) the last in the series yeah until demand is so high he makes another 1 he has already said that it depends on the consumer if they want more he will most likely work as producer, also if it is the last in the series they would want to make as much cash as possible from it I would think.
2) What Kojima says & what his employers at Konami HQ want are 2 entirely different things
3) MGS 2 did not do that well on Xbox so that may have something to do with it not coming out as well as Sony probably handing over a rather large bag of cash
4) Kojima would only need to supervise the port to 360 not do it all himself so he would be free to work on his Wii project.
5) And 1 last point Konami could make s**tloads of cash from a 360 version
Konami would be shooting themselves in the foot to NOT release it on 360. Since there's only about 5 people in the world who currently own a PS3, that's not many potential game sales to cover development costs.
On the other hand you have the 360, which has a HUGE worldwide population. That would be a lot of sales and therefor equal a large profit for the developers.
If it was PS3 only then konami would have came out and said look its for PS3 only, no 360 version of this game, instead all everyone is getting is we are not confirming it for 360 now, but we are not saying no to it either.......
Whats the betting that MGS4 comes out early 2008 for PS3 and then xmas time for 360?
