The download content for PS3's Resistance: Fall of Man which Sony promised for the "end of May" will now go live on June 7.
SCEA's Greg Phillips has confirmed: "The map pack has completed the approval process, and the content update is in the final day of testing worldwide.
"The DLC, itself, is on track and ready to go as promised by Insomniac back in March," he confesses. "The reason for the delay is we (SCEA) needed a little extra time to get the global servers locked in and ready for thousands of players to come knocking. We would rather have a short delay and continue to deliver on our over the top, online experience."
He goes on to conclude: "So, on June 7th get ready to invade the new maps and LAARK someone in Europe from the confines of your couch on the West Coast. Of course, you can still expect other enhancements to the online experience."
There you have it. Have those wireless routers ready.
Well considering everything on the Playstation Store is already massively delayed for Europe, it makes no odds to us really does it?
If we're lucky we might see downloadable PSone games, a Ninja Gaiden demo and Calling All Cars some time this decade. Resistance maps... ooh, that's a tough one. I'd suggest a release a couple of days before Resistance 2 comes out, best-case scenario.
Coincidentally (not!), the Motorstorm v1.2 update is also due to be released on June 7th....
Hmm so that's two games scheduled for major updates on the same day. It's almost a cert one of them is going to fall behind...I hope not though and being an avid Motorstorm lover I pray they both get released.
