New movie: 4:30 from Hellgate

Lengthy gameplay trailer shows variety of player characters - and a heap of action
A new trailer from Bill Roper's Hellgate: London features around four and a half minutes of gameplay action. It's viewable in our video player over right, and is designed to show off a variety of player characters - and there's plenty to see, so don't be shy.

Action-RPG Hellgate: London of course finds you battling demon hordes that have invaded the Big Smoke, and in the trailer you can witness the fight occurring in London Underground tube tunnels and the apocalyptic wasteland top-side. There's a significant multiplayer component to the game too, which has MMO-style elements and will be playable for free or via a paid subscription model which will give players access to extra features.

In comparison to diablo 2 it looks fantastic. However i suspect that when it comes to pvp it will be more challenging to balance the gameplay looking at the footage. lacking the finesse of mutliplayer shooters and lacking the simplicity of pvp rpg games.

Looks pretty mindless to me.

Why do developers release video showing their games chugging at a few frames per second? Can’t they afford a nifty machine to show things off on?

Wow. That looks unbelievably boring. Grey backdrops, repetitive action and identikit enemies lacking in any kind of subtlety or finesse. Not exactly inspiring stuff.
