505 Games has snagged the rights to serve up a sequel to the "best-selling cooking simulation game", Cooking Mama on Wii and DS.
The sequel is being readied for an early 2008 release, and promises to pack new recipes and twice as many mini-games to stir-fry your way through.
A brand-new multiplayer mode is also planned, allowing two players to challenge each other in a so-called 'cook-off'. Maybe something like cooking a chicken meal as quick as you can without infecting your guest with salmonella - we play that in real life all the time.
"Cooking Mama delivered a truly original IP and Cooking Mama 2 promises to build on its success," said Ian Howe, managing director at 505 Games.
We hope it builds on changing the dodgy controls, and adds some sort of real gaming challenge into to the mixture.
They should let people submit recipes from around the world (national dishes or basic snacks) so people can learn how cook them virtually. Like a massive online cookbook. Then when we have the confidence to do it for real we can go into the kitchen and mess it up.

Hmm... the "wait-while-it-cooks" minigame. Find a way to entertain yourself without forgetting to take your dish out of the oven. Oh dear! You left the oven and your house burnt down, killing everyone inside.
