Development on the beautiful PS3 bruiser Heavenly Sword has finally wrapped up after four long years. It's definitely left developer Ninja Theory in a good mood as well, because they're already thinking up ideas for a sequel - but it looks like the final word is up to Sony.
"We'd certainly like to do the sequel with Sony but nothing's been set in stone," chief development ninja Nina Kristensen told CVG this afternoon. "We're looking to expand and do new things but certainly we want to continue the Heavenly Sword franchise."
Reviews for the Sony-published actioner are just starting to trickle in from Magazine land and it looks like good news. CVG's paper friend PSW gave it and 8/10, and similarly high scores are trickling in from the US.
Has Ninja Theory already got sequel ideas on the table then? "Yes and we can't talk about them." Damn.
Will be interesting seeing how well the game is received first - alot of competition now tho, esp with games like WET in the works, but hey - kick-ass feminine gaming fatales FTW! hell yeah!

the first review i have read is from IGN
they said it has good graphics, great music decent gameplay...but is only a 6-7hr game...which has put me right off,as there is no online
The ign review praised most of the game mechanics but said the pacing was all wrong, making some good gameplay seem boring and repetitive quite quickly.
In this respect, HS2 sounds like a very good thing. They have the great combat system in place, another game would just have to mix it up a bit better.
It's not exactly a game that would work online without a heavily reworked and dedicated mode for competitive play.
If they can find a way to make Splinter cell work on-line you can find a way to make anything work. It could at least have had say two player co-op, personally this just sounds lazy... and it's not like they were killing themselves on the length of the game is it!
Even with the fairly low market penetration of the PS3, Heavenly Sword should do well. It has n real compitition on the PS3, and PS3 owners have been dying for something to play.
everyone seems to have adopted the microsoft thinking.
"everything must be online!, forever!"
12 year old fanboys have no place on forums...kindly leave
well if u pay Ł40+ for a 6-7 hour game i would expect online to boost its life well after u would have banished it to the dusty shelf. doesnt seem worth the cash to me.. YOUR the fanboy defending the game for something it falls down on.
erm please read mine and lmaolmaos comments again, you will find it was him(or her..sorry dont know) who was defending it
i am all for single player non online games...but as said,i would expect a longer single player game, and if it was 6-7 hr game, then the online is a perfect solution to lengthen gameplay
anyway,it is only 1 review......there have been people saying that IGN are wrong, but again this could be defending a game that people have already fallen in love with
i am hoping it is great, and it is longer than 6-7 hrs, because my PS3 needs a new game
