Calm yourselves. By the looks of this pair of boasting images, Halo 3 is starting to hit the streets - but at French retail chains (and they're not selling them), so no need to leg it down to your local GAME just yet.
The photos of what appear to be Collector's Edition Halo 3 copies surfaced on the internet over the weekend, alongside one Xbox Live member who was spotted playing the game. They could just be display cases of course, but then they don't usually come in shrink wrapping, do they?
If you remember, the naughty French were also responsible for a leak of Halo 2 onto the internet shortly before its release. Will the same happen with Halo 3? We're sure MS's piracy ninjas are already on the case.
As for the Gamertags caught playing the third shooter, the game went gold last week, so Microsoft employees will no-doubt have access to achievement-happy retail copies right now, which explains a few things.
We'll keep our eyes on the Tesco game section, but at the very least we've only got three weeks to wait. Oh, and have some new screenshots...
I've always been excited about Halo3, but with big titles like Bioshock, forza, the Darkness recently I almost 4got about it?!?.. but after watching a few "leaked" single player vids & having a read up from recent previews I can say with hand on heart....BRING ON THE FIGHT!!!! HALO 3 IS GONNA BE AWESOME. & these photo's have got me salivating!!...
you can doubt all you like but i got a feeling you'll be back here in a few months saying..."how could i ever of doubted Bungie & Halo!"....honestly get on youtube & check some of the single player vids.
I'm also feeling a bit meh about Halo 3. It just doesnt look that impressive. Neither of the first 2 were great IMO either. I think I'll stick to Bioshock. I'm hoping that because Im not expecting much from it, it may end up blowing me away. Can only hope
I played through Halo 1, got half way through halo 2 and though 'Meh. I've done all this before' and never took it out of the box since. And I was out at midnight to buy it. Won't get fooled again. I haven't bought a 360 yet and I won't for halo 3. Mass Effect is very much more likely to be the 'killer app' for me. That at least seems to be pushing the envelope forward, whereas Halo 3 seems to me to be pretty much the same guy in a new suit.
I have to say i was a little worried about Halo3 not living up to the hype, but after all I have read about Forge, it will not, online at least, dissappoint!
I think this forge stuff will make halo3 very successful, i mean, there seems to be limitless stuff that you can do with this. It will always be a laugh coming up with new game types and crazy stuff. Plus this whole 4 player online co-op and the recording sounds great.
I just hope campaign is good too and that they can have some epic battles and a huge sense of scale in there! It is looking good so far though and at the very least, there seems to be a lot more stuff for your money with this game than even Bioshock or Mass Effect can offer.
But no ones really played it!?... so how can u say its disapointing?... i dont get why everyone is coming down so hard on Halo3?, i know that all the fanboys would love to see this game bomb, but i got a feeling this game is gonna really suprise every1.

I said it looks dissapointing not that it is/will be. Although the beta left me unimpressed. Best of waiting untill after launch and get some proper feedback rather than jumping in again like I did with the first two
Although I am buying Halo 3, I really do hope it is better than Halo 2, which IMO was a real let down. The original Halo, now that is a different story, this game made be buy the original Xbox in the first place. As with everything sequels are normally worse, whether games or films (Matrix springs to mind).
I hope that Halo 3 lives up to the hype, but the beta didn't inspire me that much, so if people manage to get it prior to the release, then good luck to them, I will be staying on Bioshock in the meantime.
Sorry to be a bore but i have the first 2 halo games and although they are good games i am not even remotely excited about the imminent release of halo3. Ah well eh!
You need to work on project firstly to realise the effort put into developing a game, imagine the extensive testing involved in making sure all the parts of halo 3 work properly (saved films, plus that feature basically allows the user to fly cam), plus am I the only one to notice the amount of bugs in bioshock and recent 'hit' titles especially towards the end. The amount of interactivity on games like halo is extensive, such as bushes reacting to explosions etc but also the fluidity of the water, all these features make a game, games which tend to use the unreal engine lack AA, notice bioshock/ GoW have a lot of jagged lines and the recent MoH: Airborne uses the unreal engine which also lacks serious AA, the unreal engine does support a different form of AA which some developers do not use The moral of the arguement is, do not judge a book by its cover, step outside of the 'box' and actually think about the effort put into games
I'm going to stick my head out and say that Halo 3 will be a great game but won't give us anything revolutionary.
We've seen everything before. While H3 evolves them with better scoring, better lobbies, better co-op and better customisation with forge (possibly even the best!), it's difficult to get as excited about 3 as it was with 1 and 2 which really did new things with campaign and multiplayer respectively.
Sure you can have a look into the effort put into making a game. But if that game is not very good Im not going to change my mind because a lot of effort has gone into making it. I respect that a lot of effort goes into it but this alone does not make a great game. Ive yet to encounter any glitches in Bioshock, but I am slightly disapointed in the static nature of most the environment, as I was with GOW. & you make a really good point in regards to this aspect

Wait, you're saying the French have copies? What's to stop us from stomping in there, knocking some skulls, and partying in Paris like it's 1939? Seriously people, how much do you want this game?
Say what you will about Halo2 being a disappointment but I think alot of people are forgetting the huge success the online play was! Up until GoW was released it was still the most popular xbox live game. The one thing that Bungie does know how to do is make a very complete online package.
It's strange but the more I see the single player game the more I can understand where Bungie are going with Halo3. The weapons, enemies, settings and overall feel is going to be very similar being as there is such a short time span in the story between Halo2 and Halo3.
I kinda like the fact that they have been consistant with the style and architecture of the previous games. The graphics no matter what you may say are a vast improvement on Halo2 and from what I have read the size of the battles are far larger and more epic in scale. More marines, more covenant, more vehicles, more chaos and larger battlefields. If Bungie get it right it could be great!
Halo2's single player campaign left a sour taste in the mouth's of most fans (me included). I can't say there was as many people complaining about it's multiplayer. So touch wood Bungie will have heeded the critisism of Halo2 single player campaign and maybe just maybe we will be enjoying a fantastic swan song for the masterchief come september! Here's hoping eh!
i work in gamestation we have shrink wrapped EMPTY display cases for the limited edition version of halo i was cery excited to see them until i ripped off the wrapping and found it to be empty, i would guess these french are lying about the game being in stock
This game is going to be one awesome blast from start to finish*! Warthogs, rocket launchers, nail grenades, dual weilding, massive battles - cannae wait!

you know, i dont think anyone can say it any better than how you did. for a while i was convinced i was going to be buying a game that could've been better, in comparison with alot of other fantastic looking games on the horizon. but with all these features that i now hear that will be included in the game, i can honestly say that this is my most wanted game of the year.
