Bioshock could make its way to Wii, PS3, PS2 and handhelds, according to an analyst in a recent Take-Two report.
In a company update, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey banked on Take-Two extracting more from the success of the critically acclaimed Bioshock, as well as the continued anticipation of GTA IV.
"We expect management could choose to raise capital now, leveraging a higher share price, investor enthusiasm over the GTA IV release, the franchise potential of Bioshock and their strong fiscal '08 guidance," said Hickey.
Don't put your life on hold though - if Bioshock should make it to other formats, Hickey (via GameDaily) doesn't expect it to happen before fiscal year 2009.
this just sounds really stupid, any game can be done on any format, but bioshock is really atmospheric in its effects which are very shader intensive and the Wii just could not cope with that. I would be very impressed if it came out on the Wii and a review stated that the graphics were even 'good'
No offence to Wii fans, i like the Wii, i just dont think Bioshock is a game possible to do well on the Wii
You could prob squeeze it on the wii. Ubisoft managed with farcry and valve with half-life on the xbox. And metriod 3 is a pretty stunning looking game. From a gameplay stand point Oblivion would be much more interesting due to it being mostly melee combat and casting magic.
A Wii version is currently more likely than a PS3 version - especially when you consider the higher development, testing and publishing costs for PS3 projects coupled with the poor sales of the console in comparison to the Wii.
There have been more Wii hardware units shifted in the States alone than PS3 units worldwide.
Considering Take 2's current financial state I'd say they're more likely to risk releasing Bioshock for the Wii rather than the PS3. The control sheme of the Wii would be ideal, and whilst it won't have the eye candy associated with the 360 SKU the improved gameplay and immersivity should more than make up for it.
got bored with this on the 360. couldn't be bothered to finish it! on the wii i guess it will be the same with grainy graphics and jaggered edges but still dull.

That doesn't sound very different to Bioshock really!!
Bioshock only has one melee weapon, Oblivion has loads so theres one difference. In Oblivion you could have different motions for the different styles of weapons, like jabs for knifes, different swings for swords, clubs etc, you also have bows too. Then there could be different ways to cast magic, mimicking the motions the character does when castings. Where as bioshock is more about shooting, unless you just go round t**ting everyone with the wrench.
Bioshock is the most boring game ive ever played in my life --- if ti came to the wii it would look rubbish - ps3 by all means but its gunna take them like 1 year to do ti
The main issue here is the fact that BioShock runs on Unreal Engine 3 - which isn't available for the Wii, with no current intention to do so, either. Thus bringing BioShock to the Wii would require a lot of effort on behalf of 2K Boston/Australia (or someone else doing it for them), and actually a PS3 port shouldn't be too hard once the bugs are ironed out for UE3 (which Epic are working with Sony on, hence the priority on UT3 on PS3).
I already know the title of the wii version. Its called Bioshock Party. Its a collection of hilarious party games set in the bioshock universe. Im looking forward to the "roll big daddy through a simple maze" mini game
have to say bioshock is one of the best games i have ever played. Been playing since zx spectrum days. if you think it's boring i think you best stick to the usual run-of-the-mill titles then that require very little else than pressing "fire" or "kick" a lot.
wow, i cant believe some of you guys find bioshock boring, its scares the complete crap out of me( i have never played a game that freaks me, Fear is soo tame in comparison ) when i have the volume playing and can hear full 360Degree directional sound on the headphones, the gfx are great, the setting is brilliant and the storyline is cool
I put bioshock wayyyy above HL2 and any other SP FPS in quality and what it delivers
Again, i understand horses for courses, but im shocked at 'boring'

I may be alone here but I really don't understand how waving your arms around like a mentalist to cast magic or swing a sword would make the game play anymore interesting. Not only would you look like a complete t**t, but the novelty would soon wear off about the time your arms start to ache.
Sure if the sword did exactly what your motion on the nunchuk controller was doing then fair enough, but so far I'm yet to see a game that uses the controller for anything that a simple press of a button can't do.

That was my point really, the wrench when powered up is actually far more effective than most of the guns, particularly in the later stages of the game. For it to really work you need to combine it with using Plasmids.
For me Bioshock was mainly Melee combat and using plasmids. The guns are pretty useless later in the game and generally the shooting just isn't very good.
I get what you are saying about Oblivion, I just think they could do something very similar with Bioshock and also have the shooting aspect to the controls aswell, possibly giving an even more varied and interesting control set up. They could proaba;y dream up some ingenious new hacking system too using the wii-mote.
Anyway, I seriously doubt Bioshock will show up on the Wii.

See, i mainly just used the shotgun and machine gun upgrading them as i went and ocassionaly the chemical gun. The wrench only got used if i ran out of ammo.
Dead rising could work pretty well on the wii, well if they could get it to do similar numbers of enemies on screen. Even better though would be if the wii got more original games worth buying the system for.
would anyone actually want to buy this on a different console 2 YEARS after its initial release? personally i feel if you wanted the game that much you would buy a 360 or upgrade your computer.
Bioshock has it's faults certainly but boring graphics and gameplay are certainly not amongst them.
And as for appearing on other formats - Wii no chance, PS3, well why not ? They could use a decent game and I'm sure Microsofts exclusivity can't last forever...
Oh goody, more analyst crap, wonder if this is the same guy who predicted the PS3 would be the market leader within a year after its release...
Anyway, what would be the point bringing Bioshock out on other platforms 2 years after its oroginal release? By then the PC version will be a tenner (if that) and the average PC will be able to run it full spec no trouble, the 360 will be cheaper as will the game and therell just be no market for it (hey I should do this analyst thing, its dead easy ).
So I would hope that its a new Bioshock that is being reffered to, maybe two new games since the Wii and PS3 are so different.
bioshock coming to wii great news, except for the fact its coming to ps2,we all know wat that means, they will start making it on ps2 first and port it over to wii another rush job id say, they will use 20% of wii's power and leave the rest untouched for a lower cost project.
