A review of Super Mario Galaxy that cropped up in Belgian magazine 'Gunk' is far from what it seems and was not done using a final copy of the game, Nintendo has told CVG.
They gave Mario's next quest 92 percent in what would have been the world exclusive review, which spans just a single page and isn't even shouted about on the cover.
Why such a short review for the most anticipated Wii game yet? Probably because they've only played the short E3 demo, like the rest of us.
"It is 100 percent not a review", a Nintendo spokesman told us, who went on to confirm that "no one in the world will have access to final game code until October 10 at the earliest."
Don't know about anyone else but I don't own a Wii (intend to get one next year) and my most anticipated game is Super Smash Bros Brawl. I couldn't care less about Mario Galaxies...
100 percent not a review... is that some subtle suggestion that Mario Galaxy will be a 100% game... I hope so.. 100% would make it better than Mario 64... I cant wait. Anyway.. just hurry up and release it in the UK already!
So I'm guessing it was a page 7/8ths full of pictures, with a paragraph which roughly translates as:
"Mario Galaxy looks well good, he looks like in his last games but better-like and with space and stuff. All in all, our in-depth review of the whole game gives him 92% (deducted 8% for having a gay bee suit)"
That's what I would expect from a magazine called gunk...the nuts/zoo of Belgium, right?
Gunk's editor reacted on their forums: http://forum.gunk.be/showpost.php?p=791697&postcount=12(in Dutch).
They were allowed to play Super Mario Galaxy for 2 days on a Nintendo event here in Belgium. Based on that play session, they 'reviewed' the game. They have e-mail confirmation from their Nintendo rep to publish the review.
Some background information: Gunk magazine was founded by Frank Molnar (http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Molnar), who participated in the Belgian Big Brother and has since been the host of several game programmes, focussed mainly on parties and babes instead of previews/reviews (See for yourself).
I am the chief editor of GUNKmagazine and I have an official mail from a Belgian Nintendo spokesperson which states that we had the autorisation to REVIEW the game.
So anyone who has doubts can email me and I can send him or her the mail which states the above.

You might have a letter with the authority to review the game ( I going to try this ) but without a review copy they are saying it's not review,
I think you will get a review copy ( defo going to try this ) from them, never thought I would write the word review so much about a review that's not a review.

I thought My response was more subtle and efficient myself..
I'm from Belgium & Gunk is a LOT of crap (all the other Belgian games mags are also.). The television show is even much much worse. I'm glad most of you don't understan dutch; so you wouldn't have to read it. As a games fan; I hate the way they always talk about boobs instead of games. It's a mag for kids under 10. Frank Molnar is gay. So is Christophe & the rest.
I'm glad there are british mags. They are the best.

OMFG, you stole my exclusive, Nintendo of Europe promised me the first review since I am lead writer of my magazine and I am the song of Iwata, curse you Belgian currs
This Email that authorizes gank to review the game... surely they meant a review copy not a demo ive seen on game trailers or everywebsite in the world....
I could probably get permission off Ninty to review Galaxies as long as i used my own copy of the game (as Digitiser sometimes used to)or was sent a review copy....
