Unreal Tournament III is sitting high on CVG's list of games to beg, borrow and steal. Either way, we're playing it. But news that the Unreal Tournament III beta demo for PC could only be a few weeks has got us wondering if it'll be good enough to prise us away from Valve's Orange Box.
Chances are it will but who would have thought all those years ago that Orange Box and UTIII would be out at the same time?
"Just wanted to give you a heads' up that we're getting pretty close to releasing the Unreal Tournament 3 Beta Demo for Windows," said Epic VP Mark Rein. "The Beta Demo will allow instant action play against bots as well as online multiplayer.
"The purpose of the Beta Demo is to test the game on a large variety of hardware configurations and get gameplay feedback from the community. The development team feels they're pretty close to being ready to release this so it could come out this week but for safety sake I'd say it should be out within two weeks."
Will there be a UTIII level creator on PS3 or will I have to buy UTII twice, create the level on PC, the transfer it over to the PS3 so I can use it online?
Good news, just a shame that to download anything like demo's on my pc, it takes about three days.
That's wireless net for you, except oddly enough I can download demos from the playstation store which are about 1gb in like 20 minutes. Work that one out, I can't.
Anyway, had this pre-ordered on pc for Ł18 since last year when it's original release date was, so hopefully the full game will come out soon.
