Nintendo has finally unveiled it's long talked-up Wii music game, creatively titled Wii Music.
Apparently it has you using the Nunchuck and Wii Remote in time with button presses to contol a six person band.
In single-player you can either control the whole band or have the CPU fill up the extra slots, and of course four-player multiplayer is the biggest touting point.
40 instruments are lined up for the final game, which is due in Japan (and probably Europe) next year. We get the feeling this one's going to sell like cheap porn... (really well)
im not gonna lie, im not a fan of the wii cus its only good games are super smash bros and super mario, but this game looks s*it, wats the point when u can have guitar hero 3, or if u have a PS3 rockband
Yup, it's pretty much what I expected - another disappointment.
See, if they'd given stuff like Wii Sports, Wii Music and whatever other Wii titles they're dragging out into one package it might actually have been worth something - the variety there would have made it worth the cash.
But since we have no DLC available and the amount of tracks you can fit on a DVD is limited, this will get very boring very fast.
It'll sell s**tloads too. What the hell is wrong with people? Stop buying them and they'll stop making them!
I'm afraid it's games like this wich are causing the Wii to not be taken seriously as a next gen console.
No doubt this will bring out all the people who say, "The Wii can only do s**t graphics and isn't really a next gen console"
I like my Wii, but I do sometimes wish the developers would get their acts together and make some decent games for it instead of all these pathetic "eggs on legs" games.

Only good games are smash Bros and mario?
What about Metroid Prime, Zelda, Nights and Umbrella Chronicles?
'wats the point when u can have guitar hero 3, or if u have a PS3 rockband'
Well I think the point is some people might be put off by the supposed hardcore-ness of it all, and might not want extra crap like a guitar (or drums and whatever else) lying around. Plus, Miis as a collective are a pretty big franchise now.
And do you know why the graphics look 'crap' - because they're supposed to. They're appealing to the same audience as Wii Sports - no, not necessarily grandmas and whoever else, but people who just want some simple fun. I'm a 19 y/o male and I'll def thinking about picking up this game, especially if it has a ton of nintendo tunes.
Are people on here stupid, or just upset that not everyone is into the same thing as them?
But since we have no DLC available and the amount of tracks you can fit on a DVD is limited, this will get very boring very fast.
WTF are you on about. Im sure the games code is gonna be no more than 500mb leaving over 4gb for music. now that's well over 1000 tracks if they chose an MP3 style format. but the music is more likely to be loads of samples that you put together making the music almost limitless.
Not my kind of game, but I hate when people slag a game cuz 'THEY' don't like it. if it sells then somebody likes it.
Let's be honest here, with the amount of development time and with the estimated specifications of the Wii, this game looks absolutely terrible.
Whilst I would defend gameplay over appearances any day, what you have here is a game that uses skins on existing character models (Miis), incredibly poorly rendered instruments set on textures that would've looked below average on the Dreamcast 8 years ago.
I still flatly refuse to believe that just because gameplay is important we should ignore the visual element of casual gaming. Just because my gran might not appreciate self-shading or bump mapping is not a reasonable excuse for taking over 12 months to develop a game which on first impression (granted) appears to be nothing more than a simple rythmn action game.
If Pixar said "Ah well, our demographic is primarily 5 to 14 year olds and their parents, they won't mind if we make this film look like it was made on an N64 dev kit..." people would be disgusted by their lazy approach. Why should Nintendo be the exception to this rule?
So this is just another rhythm game then? I thought there was going to be a game where I would get to play virtual drums, or conduct an orchestra, or look stupid trying to play a trumpet!??! Or is that a different game?
Is this just Donkey Conga without the Donkey, the conga or the bongos?
Because you have played it so you know.............
Idiot!
Do you think I need to put my self through the teeth pulling agony of playing this to know it is b*ll**ks?
T*ss*r!!
The point is that you seem to feel the need to come on these forums simply to slag the Wii off. You have previously stated that you do not own any of the current gen of consoles and you still feel quilified to slate games you have never played or even seen in action.
When I think a game is rubbish it is normally due having played it and finding that the gameplay is crud or that there are massive glitches or flaws, you simply state that something is rubbish without actually going into any detail on what you find rubbish about the game. There have been games that I have thought should be rubbish but turn out to be quite good fun(ie the first time I looked at Super Smash Bros) and there are games that I think should be great that turn out to be flawed (ie Bioshock and Metal Gear Solid 2). On the rare occasion that I comment on something before I have played it I usually try to provide a reason why I either think it looks good or bad.
This game on first looks does not seem to be a game I would like but I will give it the benefit of the doubt for now until more is known about it as it may turn out to be time eating fun for all I know.

k ill give u metroid prime, but zelda's gone downhill since OoT and umbrella chronicles is jus makin up for the wii not bein powerful enough to work resi 5. the shame is i loved the n64 but i hated my gamecube cus i dont wanna play the exact same thing over an over, ninty use to make brilliant games but now they seem stale, im sure my 5 year okd cousin will love this game tho
i would have hoped for something better than just choosing a mii, whether it's a hitler mii, m. jackson mii, or your mii, and just copying the rythm to some tunes. the wii's motion controls could be used in much better ways to make ya own music. the remote and nunchuk could be used as virtual drumsticks to play on a virtual on screen drum-kit! or as a guitar, strumming with the nunchuk and using the remote buttons for chord changes. the wii could become a virtual music studio, using any instrument. you could record your own music as mp3's and upload them to the SD card to save them, or transfer! also with the wii-mic available with boogie you could even add vocals to them. however in wii music you get to just play music with some boring looking mii's, possibly very dull indeed. i see this as just more pants casual gamer stuff. maybe i'll be proved wrong, but i doubt it!
