What a dumbass time to hold them ! Just so all those celebs and industry big wigs can start getting p**sed early.
Why not start them at 6 o'clock when us 'real' people will have finished work and would actually be in a position to crack open a can and watch it without having to keep one hand hovering over the ALT-TAB keys ?
Any chance of an invite for one of your most loyal fans, who's been following C&VG since issue one? Yes I'm 34, and I've been reading it (online now) for quarter of a century. My how time flies playing games....
I'm based in central London so its not too late!!!
Any chance of some enthusiasm from this? It's about games! Alter your voice pitch every so often, kindly, and also why's the crowd largely mute? MAKE SOME NOISE!
I wonder is Pharrell is there - the guy from N.E.R.D.
He always seems to be at these things and makes stupid comments like "gaming.. it's like an intense experience that gives depth to life"
Yea ok mate...I watched one of the Inside Gaming features on XLeague.tv on Sky and he was at the Halo 3 launch party, he looked like he really didn't want to be there, despite the fact he was probably being paid hundreds of thousands to turn up.
Just to underline what was said earlier ... TV is definitely DEAD .. me and my mates now just do this chat thing on MSN and share youtube vids ... it was fun watching with you guys ^^,
Very ametuerish indeed but still a good waste of 30 mins.
Not too surprised by the results of most awards but Assassins Creed being more highly anticipated than GTA IV or Mario Galaxy?! What?
With this kind of ametuer presentation after 25 yrs (!) compared to other types of award ceremonies, how can we expect games to be taken as a serious form of media?
But at least there were no weepy acceptance speeches to sit through
Considering they were voted for by regular people (except the Editor's Choice), it's not really possible for you to say that So-and-So deserved more, because they obviously didn't.

If they did, they would have gotten more votes.
Ah, so by that measure, the Nazi party deserved to be in charge of Germany in the 30's/40's?!
Just cos the majority voted it, doesn't mean they deserved it!

Depends what you mean by "deserved". They deserved to be in power, because they got more votes than anyone else. No other reason. Just because most people (including myself) don't agree with their policies, doesn't mean they didn't deserve to be put in power with the necessary number of votes. They paid for it in the end, by being put on trial for War Crimes, and Crimes Against Humanity by the end of the Second World War.
Mass Effect isn't out yet, so no, it wasn't included. And also, Gears of War was a very good game, it may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but it was very well made, and did most things right.
Its a well deserved award and a pretty obvious choice when its main competitor's were PS2's games and a GC port in the form of Zelda. Some of you may not agree but the vast majority obviously feel its a well deserved award. The only other game that could have challenged it was God of War 2 but that most likley missed out due to Gears of War being the first 'proper next gen game'.

F**k me thats awesome, Ima writing that one down ... Ah ... so ... by ... that ...
Write it down so that you look like a fool next time, too.
Oh dear ... you appear to be lost ... I think "your kind" is probably better suited to GameSpot forums ... feel free to f**k off over there any time soon mmmk ... and oh ... if you want to knock yourself out by posting more childish ill-considered insults ... again, feel free, because in no way will you be getting another response from me ...
Gears of war is such an incredible game, technologically stunning, gorgeous style and art, fantastic score, great cover system and gameplay... great job epic!
