Orange Box updated to lag-free edition

Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2 finally gets patch to fix online lag, among other things
Valve has released its promised Orange Box Xbox 360 patch, which apparently fixes the crippling lag owners have been complaining about since release.

The vast majority of complaints stemmed from gamers trying to participate in 6v6 or 8v8 matches, where "connection to host lost" messages become common place.

The new patch - which should stream down your internet wire the next time you boot up the game - reduces network bandwidth usage, improves overall game performance and tinkers with the matchmaking to apparently make ranked games much easier to find. It's all gravy then, baby.

The PC version appears to be unaffected, and you can check out our review of that right here.

Good fix Valve!

Downloaded it and immediately got five games in a row with connection to host lost message.

Did actually manage to play a couple of games after without it so it must have fixed something.

Downloaded it last night. Promptly experienced my first game with crippling lag after a week of lag free goodness last week.

Nice fix. Confused

Ah ha its all good news, i had a avoided playing TF2 because of the lag, spent all my time on portal since release. Now i can crack it open without fear of Lagness. Looks like its time to update my playing list.

I was playing right up til about midnight last night and there was still no sign of the patch on mine, no download now or anything. Still found a load of good games though, although i do avoid 6v6 and above.
