Nine PSone treats for huge PSN update

G-Police, Syphon Filter 2, Coolboarders, Crash and more...
The PSone games have fairly slow on the uptake, but Sony will gladly be stepping up the pace with the retro treats this month, with nine classics planned for November. Sweet.

G-Police is the one we're after, although there's plenty of awesome stuff on the way, including Crash 2 and 3, and Colony Wars.

Still no WipEout 2079 though, which is both shocking and disappointing after a series of mix-ups and no-doubt underlying technical issues saw the awesome racer confirmed for the download service back in July, and then delayed on the same day.

Here's the list of the nine PSone games on the way this month, followed by the enormous list of PSN content forecasted for the rest of the year.

PSone titles:

  • Coolboarders
  • G-Police
  • Destruction Derby
  • Colony Wars
  • Motor Toon Grand Prix 2
  • Syphon Filter 2
  • Bust-A-Groove
  • Crash Bandicoot 2
  • Crash Bandicoot 3

  • MotorStorm Devil Crossing pack:
    Track - Devils crossing
4 new tickets containing 10 races
2 new vehicles with 3 liveries each. One unlockable vehicle with 3 liveries upon completion of the mini devils crossing festival (as per Coyote revenge pack)
  • Tekken 5: DR Online pack and full game

  • PAIN trailer
  • Devils' weekend trailer
  • Toy Home game
  • flOw Expansion pack
  • Uncharted Hunting El Dorado
  • Snakeball game

Anyone notice that as bacwards compatibilty is slowly being phased out Sony crack on with re releasing ps1 games so that people can re-buy them again? Sony are rubbing their hands

Well you dont have to buy them & to be honest that list of PS1 games is pretty crap.

Where are the likes of Res evil 2, Vagrant story, Crono cross, Crash team racing, Time crisis, Rage racer, Ridge type 4, R-type delta, Quake 2, Doom.

Now some of those would be nice for PSN I dont own a PS3 yet but surely some of the better PS1 titles like mentioned above would be of more interest to those that do.

Those games will come to PSN store in the future - All you do is BE PATIENT!

Everbody's golf and everyday shooter are the ones for me on that list. They really should get some more demos out though and for Gods sake release a patch for the PS2 classic 'Gradius V' so it does'nt crash after the third level! Confused

why anyone would want to play a PS1 game on a PS3 is beyond me!! most of those games were s**te when they were new, so why would anyone pay 5 euro for one nowdays is a joke...

The new PS3s are actually perfectly capable of playing PS1 games (its all software emulation anyway), so Sony aren't trying to milk you. What they're doing (and the reason I would buy some of these) is releasing PS1 games that can be taken on the move with the PSP.

FINALLY! someone who actually THINKS before hopping on the "Bash Sony" bandwagon.

It was my understanding the emulation was being removed on the new ps3s being manafactured?

Why don't people moan that the Wii isn't compatable with N64 carts? And Nintendo make you pay for N64 games again.

Seems the same thing to me. Just an excuse to bash Sony. Zealots.

Only PS2 emulation has been removed from 40 GB PS3’s, PS1 games work fine.

Being a collector I’d prefer just buying the originals but Ł3.50 is quite good value.

This kind of implies WipEout HD isn't going to make it this year doesn't it?

I'm wondering how much we germans get out of all that stuff. Because in germany Sony is to afraid to release anything with a 16 and up rating (12 and up is the next below that). Fortunately I have an us account too, but the problem is, that you cant pay with german credit cards in the us-store.

how can anyone complain about this line up??? Rolling Eyes
did you read?? G-POLICE! and COLONY WARS!
absolute classics... Cool
