Turok is PC-bound

Previously console-only dinosaur hunter now heading to PC, courtesy of some port house we've never heard of
Disney Interactive sends word that its re-imagining of previously-rubbish dinosaur shooter Turok is no longer limited to PS3 and 360 - owners of stupidly expensive PCs can play it as well.

Porting duties are being handled by Aspyr Studios (we've no idea who they are either) and the PC version will arrive in "Spring 2008", shortly after the February console release.

The new Turok, in case you missed previous PR explosions, once again puts you in the mould of Joseph Turok, only this time you're a hard-as-nails elite special forces commando, trawling through a mysterious planet fighting space pirates and mauling the odd dinosaur here and there. It looks very pretty.

16-player multiplayer is promised for all versions, and we should have some idea how it's turning out in the next few weeks running up to release. We're crossing our fingers really hard in the hope that it isn't shit.

As far as I'm aware, Aspyr make pretty much every game worth playing on a mac.. (except Halo obviously)

Would that be the N64 version?

The critically well received and extremely enjoyable one ?

Nice unbiased reporting there Wink

Previously console-only dinosaur hunter

I have PC versions of Turok and Turok 2 sitting here next to me..

Console only? They must be talking about the terrible turok evolution. The first and second were both on PC.

They might be able to make an entertaining game. Not holding my breath however.

Lets just hope the weapons are as inventive, it better not be as broken as Evolution was.

I bought that for £7 when I had my Xbox and still felt ripped off Laughing

"Previously console-only dinosaur hunter"... Yep, this game (the one that's still being made) was previously console only and therefore not coming to PC. This news however points out that it is not now console only - therefore - "Previously console-only dinosaur hunter"

Yeah. I hope that was a joke, because Aspyr are only a fairly large American publisher.

Mind you, their port of Top Spin 2 was hardly stunning...
