Something PS3 owners must be getting used to by now is waiting a little longer for games to come to their platform, but in Eternal Sonata's case, the extra wait means you'll get two more characters to play as, which is nice.
As an exclusive treat to PS3 owners, the characters Serenade and Prince Crescendo, who were non-playable characters in the 360 version, will be fully playable. These characters will bring with them new story sequences as well, according to Dengeki Online (via Kotaku).
That should add a little extra incentive to lure in Gamerpoint junkies who usually go for the 360 version, which is out now (and you can check out our review of that right here).
The PS3 version of the game is yet to get an official release date.
i played the 360 demo, I dont think i want ANY version.
The pretty graphics seen in the screenshots are only displayed when talking to a character, and I dont want to play a game that might / might not all turn out to be a dream.
I love RPGs. But life is too short to play mediocre ones.
I'm about 6 hours into this game and its a real gem. Sadly there are more interesting games being released every week so i've put it on the back burner until the storm calms. As for this news, well I guess they have to do something to make the PS3 version more attractive, after all, it'll be at a cheap price by the time its released and no doubt this extra content will be available as DLC from LIVE.
I'm about 25 hours into the 360 version and the game is an absolute gem of an RPG in my opinion with endearing characters, a great story, a superb real-time combat system, gorgeous art and beautiful music. What more do you want from an RPG? I'd rather play a dozen Eternal Sonata's than another generic FPS; the 360 needs more of these sorts of games if it wants to broaden its appeal.
