Is Relic working on Homeworld 3?

Reports indicate Relic owner THQ has acquired the trademark for the RTS series
Hopes of a new instalment in the Homeworld RTS series have been raised as the trademark has reportedly been snapped up by THQ.

Fans of the series apparently dug up the news on the trademark acquisition in a US trademark document published online - however, at the time of writing the document was offline.

The Homeworld games were previously published by Sierra and developed by Relic. Relic, of course, was bought out by THQ, so understandably it's now speculated that the studio could deliver a third Homeworld outing.

Homeworld was a space-based, 3D RTS that proved extremely popular, and its return has been long looked for by fans.

Yes please!

Oh God, yes please. Although I hope they take pointers for the storyline from the first game, as the plot to the second was a little naff.

The third game in the series would be a very welcome addition indeed.

Never played HW2 (though it's cheap as chips now apparently so I really should go-get) ... but yeah I loved HW1 ... though strangely I just remembered that it's one of the few games that I actually haven't finished yet.

* me goes to dig out HW1 *
