Ubisoft reveals Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Second game coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in March next year
Ubisoft has revealed a sequel to last year's Rainbow Six outing in Sin City, Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

The sequel (yes, it's still set in Las Vegas) will be hitting PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in March 2008, with a new single-player campaign and "some surprises" left over for versus and co-op modes. Other than that, Ubisoft is reluctant to reveal any more about the sequel.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas has been the effect of a bomb in the world of video gaming in 2006, by introducing in one fell swoop technological advance and innovation in terms gameplay," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, in a French press release we translated on Google.

"We are confident that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will also pioneer in the field of highly competitive shooters and delight fans of the Rainbow Six brand."

The sequel will again be developed by Ubisoft Montreal. We're sure Clancy fans will be delighted, but we'll wait and see how much the second game has to offer before we get excited.

Not to put a downer on things but wouldn't a change of scenery be better? I don't like to think of playing through this and thinking I'm playing through pretty much the same maps.

And on top of that, the Rainbow team were based in Hereford in the novel so wouldn't London or various locations across Europe make sense? Or would that upset the American market do you think? Rolling Eyes

Think this could be dodgy, we've heard nothing of this game until now and it's only 4-5 months from release. Will probably be a re-hashed version of the first game with sharper graphics!

You could be right, but it's not like they start working on a game as soon as they announce it, they probably started work on it after they finished RSV And I hope they sort out the bullet lag on MP

Course they did. Didn't it seems clear that there should be a sequel to Rainbow Six Vegas?

I mean (the last guy. forgot the name) survives. So its comes clear to ones mind, that the ultimate badass wants his avenge.

Really hope this is good, Vegas is on eof the best online experiences on the 360 with some mates.

After the debacle that was Rainbow 6 Vegas on the PC, erm bigtime no thanks UBI, you can keep that and all your other PC games to yourself. While the game was decent enough they support was terrible, it still doesnt support standard 22" widescreen, the music keeps playing when you context switch out of it, the FPS are crap even on an 8800 GTX, it only supports the 360 controller, its full of bugs, theres no dedicated server support, the installer doesnt support dual core and gives an error if your CPU is under 3Ghz lol, the list goes on and on and on )

I wouldnt play it if i was paid, once bitten......

To be honest this is how it should be. This way there's less hype about a game and we don't end up disappointed if the game doesn't live upto our expectations (Assassin's Creed anyone?).
They've had more than enough time to work on the game but like the majority of sequels, it will still use the same engine and most likley have slightly better graphics.
I hope they use the face mapping again and improve upon it as that was one of the main selling points for the original game.

This is looking very "sweet" indeed!! So come on guys concentrate on sorting the AI to perfection...then quality product and a "must buy" guaranteed!

Yeah I knew there was going to be a sequal, I was just saying that they aren't just having 4-5 months to work on it. Damnit I forgot his name, too

Gabriel Logan wasn't it? I really have to finish those last 2 missions.
Crow555 on 20 Nov '07
Yup, that's it! cheers ;p

lwill on 20 Nov '07
YES!

As to the location - it makes sense if you've completed the first one.

Give us Rainbow Six: Blackpool

Well it's England's version of Las Vegas apparently (which must mean that Vegas is truly hellish).

You have to avoid the lary chavs stumbling out of the clubs, dressed as nurses, and the women on their hen nights, wearing next to nothing with L plates hanging out their bottom.

Just think of the possible Maps

The Big One
Bingo Hall
Haunted House
Pizza Hut
Blackpool Tower
Yates'
Golden Mile
Caravan Park
Big Blue B&B

oh great, more poor controls, dodgy frame rates, sloppy gameplay, endless dying and walking around like your feet are trailing through a sea of glue. (i don't like this game)

Ahh dont get me wrong, the game itself is quite enjoyable, its the fact that they never fixed any of the main issues and bugs after release, especially widescreen, you have to use a hack from the widescreen forum to get 16:10. I enjoy online games, but online in Vegas is crap, they still havnt fixed the "As soon as you start you empty a clip( usually into your mate in front of you lol )" bug

Gabriel Logan wasn't it? I really have to finish those last 2 missions.

I did some research:

Main Character :Logan Keller

The guy I was talking about: Gabriel Nowak (I bet this guy will come again for avenge, didn't Irena declare that the Terrorist group new everything about Logan?)

Squad Mates:
Michael Walters, demolitions and heavy weaponary
Jung Park reconnaissance and electronics

With that said, I'm off to play some Call of Duty 4 ^^

cheers
