S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on 360 imminent?

GSC Game World becomes certified Xbox developer, presumably meaning they fancy making Xbox games
Speculation grew this weekend that PC shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is coming to Xbox 360, after its Ukrainian developer GSC Game World revealed it's become a certified Xbox developer.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. PC publisher THQ gave us a swift "no comment" when we picked up the phone, though we saw that coming a mile off.

The official announcement can be found over on GSC's website, but one sentence from the Russian press release was left out of the English announcement, as spotted by eagle-eyed NeoGAF forum users.

"Our second aim is to increase X360 install base and legal software sales in ex-USSR region. Creation of high quality, interesting, comprehensible for our players titles and acceptable cost of games is the key to this task," says the Russian release, via our mate Google translate.

We can only support the cause of introducing more Russians to Xbox Live, if only to make online games of Call of Duty even more authentic.

As for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 360, apparently GSC is already working on a handful of unannounced console titles, so it'd be a pretty safe assumption that at least one of them will take place near Chernobyl.

We'll let you know when GSC's inevitable Russian press release answering all arrives.

Imminent would suggest that a game would likely be released at any moment and as they have only just announced their certification to xbox development and there have been no announcements about any games the subject title is very misleading CVG.

Also considering that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the PC was announced about 5 years (maybe more i didnt keep count) before it was actually released i dont think were going to see a game from them for a while yet.... although i could be wrong of course.

Anyway more games for more platforms is only a good thing.

I like how they had to state "Legal Software Sales". I bet theres a bit of bootlegging going on in that part of the world.

Hopefully they have fixed all the problems with the PC version and it will be more stable on the console, this was a great game that I sadly stopped playing because of all the issues with the PC version.

Expect a double pack of the first game and Clear Sky for the 360, then.

Old rope? The game came out in March this year, just a few months ago, and you are calling it 'old rope'? Idiot. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl will be on many people's Game of The Year list, at the top for quite a few too. Not to mention it is better than any game out for the PS3.

Woaaaaaaah, hold on a sec. I've played it already on the PC. I have a 360. I want original games for consoles. Please. Just trying to point out that there seems to be a trend of bringing PC games to 360. Then flogging them for Ł40-50. With bugs.

Game of the year? Dream on. If it is'nt Halo 3 or Bioshock (I am a fan of neither) I'll shave off my pubic hair and stick it to my eyebrows. Mind you, people will just think I am a member of Oasis! Laughing

Why not, my PC just about ran this, and from what I got to play it seems to be a really good game. Should look and run a treat on 360. Very Happy

Just wait for the moans from the PS3 fanboys. LaughingLaughingLaughing
