Free Unreal Engine 3 FPS released

NetDevil unleashes Warmonger, Operation: Downtown Destruction for PC
Auto Assault developer NetDevil has released Unreal Engine 3-powered first-person shooter Warmonger, Operation: Downtown Destruction for FREE.

"Warmonger", states the studios, "pushes the limits of destruction technology where game environments can be shaped and manipulated by players at will.

"Taking full advantage of AGEIA's PhysX card combined with Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 (UE3), the powerful game mechanics combine high performance action and stunning fluid and cloth effects that reflect the cutting edge of gaming visuals and physics today."

The last we heard on Warmonger has back in March this year when NetDevil released first screenshots from its game. This followed the original announcement on the title in January.

The download's 437MB, and mirrors can be found on the official Warmonger website as well as here.

Quite what you get for your download we'll discover when the file finishes filtering down our pipe. Let us know what you think of the game in the comments below.

Free is always good.

Destructible environments are usually good for game dynamics because you can open up paths that shouldn't be there, meaning you can sneak around the enemy or blast your way through to an objective.

And if nothing else, it could serve as a benchmark to see how well UE3 works on your hardware Smile

it wont work on my computer (its coughing just trying to run the internet after I did something wrong the other week) but I will download anyway just to be sure, because I am a sucker for free stuff.

I'll download this at my friends tonight and give it a try.

I've been following it for quite sometime, and the destructible environments do seem quite welll implemented. This is not Red Faction 3. I've downloaded it last night, but haven't got round to playing it yet...

well that wasted a few minutes, shame it didn't work on any level that is actually worth playing.
android-sheep on 29 Nov '07
Since i have 2 of the fastest graphics cards and a PhysX Card why not?
shiwayb on 29 Nov '07
Well that's 5 minutes of my life I won't get back, not to mention 400 odd Meg of bandwith. Not worth bothering with, it may be Unreal 3 engined but it's not Unreal gameplay.

Ye baby - 3FPS... % times as slow as Crysis on my machine, no anyone without a top end PC with a PhysX card really won't be able to play this....
shlobadov on 29 Nov '07
Do you have to have a PhysX card to run it?
