Burnout Paradise demo - next week

Criterion site reveals Burnout demo date
Criterion and EA are giving Burnout fans an early Christmas present; a Burnout Paradise demo arriving on either PS3 or Xbox 360 (or both!) next week.

The demo's imminent arrival was signalled by a countdown timer on the developer's official website, ticking down to Thursday, December 13 - a regular PlayStation Store update date.

You'd assume then that with that considered and the fact that the PS3 is the lead platform for Burnout, PS3 owners won't have to wait longer to give the crash-em-up a spin.

Going by the free-roaming nature of Paradise, we reckon the demo's going to be good'en (and come in at a massive file size as well).

We got to go hands-on with new instalment last week and it's looking fantastic. More on that next week, but for now check out our recent interview with the game's producer Nick Channon.

The full game is out on 360 and PS3 January 22.

Great news. Really looking forward to seeing the first proper Burnout for the current consoles.

Probably my fav driving series.

fingers crossed then come on sony this is the least you could do as you owe us EU psn users this much (-------------------------------) already

wonder what the effect of it being lead designed on ps3 will be? this could be very interesting!!
Petebrolly on 5 Dec '07
Yeah, I can't wait for this.

Both versions are identical according to the interview.
darren_mccoy on 5 Dec '07
i hope they've moved the series on, it was begining to get very stale....
hollywood111 on 5 Dec '07
Yeah, I can't wait for this.

Both versions are identical according to the interview.

Yeah, I've heard the same but because it was a ps3 lead platform game the 360 version is better than it would have been otherwise. Good news all round. Smile

Look! I want it noted down in history!

PS3 and 360 existing in harmony. One format actually improving the other! It's...I can't...

I remember reading so many months ago, that the PS3 version has a better damage model.

You just had to spoil it didn't you? We were living in a place of tranquility and shared admiration until you piped up with that one. Laughing

Maybe at that stage, many months ago, since it was a bit ahead on PS3 Laughing

It will make a pleasant change if it's better on PS3 than 360.

Hopefully I will be able to try demos of both version before buying.

But I can't imagine a burnout game without a rumbling pad, it would feel flat. Any news yet about an official UK release date for the pad?

Will certainly be looking out for this demo.
Will be interesting to see if they've mixed things up as the whole concept got boring after the last installment.
Hopefully EA aren't just milking this series by releasing a yearly edition.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I'm starting to get interested in this game, haven't had a good driving game for ages and enjoyed the previous game on xbox.

Looking forward to the demo.

I'm SO looking forward to this one. It looks like Skate but with cars. Awesome.

Nothing yet, but take heart... the demo will probably miss it, but the full game would almost certainly be out around the same time as that new fangled dualshockaxis3 thing-a-me-bob.
boskersrevenge on 5 Dec '07
i think its on both consoles because on the website it says demo DAY. not seperate days for two demos.
ToMRoKz on 5 Dec '07
It's up for download now, on the XBLM anyway. 835.53MB.
