The boss of the now defunct FASA Studio has established a new development house and has scored the rights to a number of IPs back off Microsoft.
Jordan Weisman's new studio, Smith & Tinker, has the rights to Crimson Skies, Shadowrun and MechWarrior. According to the studio's official website, it also has the rights to additional properties from the FASA back catalogue.
"We're not quite ready to announce our plans for each property, but please be assured that our goal is to surprise and delight old fans, while welcoming new fans to these fantastic worlds", the studio adds.
Yay! Let's see what kind of poorly thought through inappropriate cash ins they could squeeze out now. Mechwarrior Tetris anyone? Shadowrun Kart?
FASA would have to pull off a game more fitting to each respective PnP setting than any of the games in each of these series' so far for me to forgive the sickening travesty that was the Counterstrike/Shadowrun clusterf***.
